Apparently there's only one acceptable narrative when it comes to race. Reading this whole piece I wondered who are the real fascists. I also wonder what the end game is:

Such weird crap they're teaching our kids these days. Maybe the covid scare will lead to more home-schooled children. One thing at least we could be thankful for in this mess.

So conservatives are trying to censor this teachers freedom of speech?
To bad he didn’t tell his students to go fight the Republicans surely the right wing would be on his side then.

I thought the cons were against canceling others? Strange...

Cry me a river. This racist, insubordinate, and unprofessional teacher was fired for violating official email policy and the code of ethics for teachers. Totally absurd to portray this as a freedom of speech issue. Having worked for an "at-will" employer he has no recourse. Nor should he. Anyone that would compose an emotional rant like this teacher should not be teaching children.

Is code of ethics something like a terms of service?
Just trying to get up to speed on conservative reasoning. It’s difficult at times.

    That's the language they used.

From the article: The school said that Depner’s email “violated their personal technology agreements and the educators’ code of ethics set for faculty and staff,” 5 News reports.

Not a lawyer but they appear pretty much the same to me.

I guess you are trying to make an analogy to Amazon, Facebook or Twitter but I generally don't have an issue with a code of ethics or terms of service being enforced. I could turn your analogy around and ask if you feel this teacher was denied freedom of speech why you don't feel Twitter denied Trump his freedom of speech. See how that works?

I agree that the teacher should not have been fired for what they were fired for. But I have no problem with them being fired for using their teaching license as a way to indoctrinate students. But that isn't what they were fired for so he should be hired back. Then observed and if he is not being neutral in his teaching...then fire him. Teachers are supposed to teach. Not dictate. The 1619 project was a load of hogwash anyways and shouldn't be taught. Several scholars have spoken out against it. Here's one: LINK: Scholars are eviscerating The New York Times’ 1619 Project As well they should.

Oh and for whatever its worth, that teacher is wrong in that it IS the State Legislatures job to dictate what and how things are taught by him.

I see I didn’t make my sarcasm strong enough...

That was the point I was making! Bravo for having the capability to connect the two. You could absolutely turn the analogy around — I don’t believe any of these people have been denied their ability of free speech especially seeing that the teacher conveyed his message through his professional email which is property of the school system. I try to keep my views consistent, I sometimes fail but typically upon introspection they level out.

So many don’t seem to do this and are completely hypocritical depending on what the subject matter is.

As long as the teacher was not unfairly discriminated against and knew his actions were against his ethics agreement — and he did — then the only one to blame is himself

Thanks for the response. I appreciate that we can have different political views and yet apply a consistent ethical position to different issues regardless of political views.

the fragile white nationalists they absolutely are? Is this the new racist terms for white conservatives? It's hard to keep up with the left's pet names for us.

Oh and good riddance to that piss poor excuse of a teacher

He sent the email filled with F words out to politicians using his official school system email address instead of his personal email account.

Yes, I am capable of reading and reiterated that point in my prior post.

I mean... fragile white nationalists are fragile... if someone says they hate racists and you immediately think they are talking to you — that says more about yourself than it does anything.

But aren't all white conservatives white supremacist or white nationalist these days? I mean, it's been working so well for the left to make this claim and keep us more divided than ever. Glad to see you are playing along.

Was it the sarcasm or the request for consistency that caused you issues?

Not at all, although they almost exclusively on team red.
It like saying not all birds are humming birds but all hummingbirds are birds.

Like I said, if you take issue with people being against racism that is on you.

I would argue the division — from my perspective at least — was four years of trump supporters telling me to leave my country and to “f*** my feelings”. But hey, whatever you need to tell yourself over the next eight years.

Yet the majority of racist behavior is from the left.

See I can say things too.

The left isn't against racism. They don't advocate for equality. Did you take a gander at the Yale thread where virtually every lefty is in there defending racism?

Racism is an issue with democrats. Treating people equally regardless of race is something they just can't seem to do.

The division comes from watching the left burn and destroy cities. It comes from watching the left attack people eating in restaurants. It comes from leftist news organizations saying absurd things like white males are this country's biggest threat. Not a few posts on social media that hurt your feelings.

And where are all these trump supporters telling you to leave the country? Got any videos? Any evidence at all? Or is this just you reading a few comments here and there on social media and applying it to half the country? I'm guessing the latter.

And not all bigots are racist but all racists are bigots.

Fascists against anti fascists, Racists against anti racists. Projection is such a useful tool.

I guess they never heard of the golden rule corollary:

Do unto others as they have done unto you only twice as hard. \

Stuffing them back under the rocks and into the cesspools that the far right fascist racist supremacist/nationalist, Qanon nutbars crawled out from will be delightful to watch.

The sooner real conservatives and republicans, ditch the angry white bigots and far right nutters the sooner the tent can expand.

Teaching U.S. school children that they live in a nation built by slaves and that they have NO legacy with any kind of honor is a damnable lie and those legislators have every right to call it out.

that is not what they teach. But by all means run around with your hair on fire claiming America's birthright has been stolen by evil black people.
