I remember her and she would of been as boring as the Weekend

I miss the days of The Who, Petty, Springsteen, etc. I have zero interest in today's music.

I actually saw her live on stage when I was quite young. The show was Hello Dolly.

Everyone always likes the songs of their youth and don't care for current music.
But I still enjoy a top 40 every now and then today. I just never remember the songs name or the artists name anymore.

I could name 100s of songs from the 80s - artist & title

Could not name one song from last year

One thing that the Super Bowl did, well, at least the half time part, is spawn a LOT of memes. I'm usually fairly slow to hear memes. Usually by 1 or 2 generations of memes at least, and I started seeing the memes the day after the Super Bowl. And I didn't watch the Super Bowl. Of course I never do so that drop in ratings wasn't from me. Though on a political stance I wouldn't watch them after they went woke (assuming I was originally a watcher). As the saying goes, get woke, go broke. So this bomb of a rating doesn't really surprise me.

People watch sports and play sports and games because they want to get away from the stress in their life. Get away from the politics, the religion, work etc etc. So when they started getting political it was only natural that people started to turn away from them. Doesn't even matter that they went woke honestly. I think that if they had, I guess the opposite of woke is clammed up?, people would still have been turned off. People need that escape in order to stay sane.

So in your world I should abandon a football club I have followed since childhood because I don't like the politics of the club President? Why would I do that....other than being a big, tantrum throwing manbaby?

I'm not actually convinced you properly read or understood my post. That seems to happen a lot here.

It was the first game I've watched since the kneeling took hold. I have no interest in watching kneelers play ball. I love the game, and tuned in because of Brady. This is like getting to watch Willie Mays play baseball, or Michael Jordan play in yet another championship. And Brady didn't disappoint. What a phenomenal talent.

As for the ratings crash, it's the same thing that has afflicted the NBA, MLB, and other professional sports.
    Enough with the woke-scold lectures.

If you don't like it, sure. Why not?

I've followed Kentucky basketball since, well, the day I was born.

Haven't watched a single game this year. The team sucks, they're more interested in social justice than winning games. They were all about kneeling and getting the voices heard, and then the team went out and collapsed.

That's fine. You do you, but I'm not going to support it, so I turned it off.

I'm not advocating for canceling anything... I just won't watch. When enough people don't watch, they'll change their tune, or fold.

    Just like the NBA did.

The whole thing has been so over-amped for so long that the substance of it became obviously lacking. Combined with all the ancillary hogwash, fewer people could be bothered to tune in.

I agree with your point, but the NFL shows became political years ago. Usually militarism and other nonsense, but this year the Covid thing with all the idiots wearing masks because of a flu virus.

Still, I watched all season long, and was pulling for the Bucs.

The OP is right on, I agree with all points.

NFL is really the only sport I enjoy watching, but it's not my fault they've become so damn political.

If the club President was a huge fan of 1930s Germany and denied the Holocaust, would you abandon his football club? If he began flying Swastikas at all sporting events at his arena would you abandon his football club? If you did abandon the club, would you be a big tantrum throwing manbaby?

That is Trumpism for, "Everyone knew it would be a responsible production and not an insane, wacky nightmare of TRump speak."

In other words, he felt non Trumpists would not watch because of a lack of virtual and conspiracy theories.

he showed absolutely nothing this year. The entire year, not just teh Super Bowl.

Me thinks teh kid was in teh right place at the right time and had luck on his side but that ship has sailed.

All sports on TV are down. It's part of a changing America.

With posts like that one, you've clearly got the makings of being a successful Haiku poet, but, you'll need to be adding just a few more syllables.... :roflol:

Are you having a competition with somoene else here to produce the single worst argument in response to a reasonable point, or do you really think that this is a good argument? Asking for a friend.

If you think anything that is going on in US sport at the moment is equivalent to Nazis taking over and waving their flags then you need to have a very serious think about how you percieve the world around you because it is warped beyond recognition.

I don't stop following my club because it is doing badly, as it currently is. Following my club when it is doing badly doesn't encourage it to play badly. I also don't stop following my club because the President or other officials don't share my politics. Following my club when I disagree with the politics of some officials doesn't encourage them to believe what they believe.

I don't see how tha tis a difficult concept to grasp.

OK, so you are a fan of cancel culture who throws a tantrum when people do something you don't like. Got it. Clearly we view sport in radically different ways.

Lol, so now you're blaming Social Justice on the fact that coach Cal can't coach up a team without a stable of 5 star recruits. Cmon, you can be more creative than that !!! Lol

    Nah, it started with Cal...

Social justice was the straw that broke the camels back.

I'm not demanding anybody stop doing anything...

I'm just choosing not to watch.

Now you're going to tell me I don't have the freedom to choose to watch what I want?
