Currently virtually most, if not all, of the states who's GOP senator voted GUILTY on Dirty Donalds impeachment verdict are now being censured by their states GOP party for voting the truth and their individual conscience. Basically the party is telling them you should have LIED. So that definitely adds credence to the idea that it is the party of Dirty Donald a man of unchallenged LYING ability.

It's clear. If you vote with your conscience, there will be consequences. They are not allowing any sort of individual thinking. It's all about conformity. What happens the next time a republican asks the party to actually work with the democrats through bipartisan efforts? Are they going to be censured?

BS they aren't being penalized for voting their conscious, most of them have been in DC too long to have one, they are being penalized for their failure to represent the people who put them in office in the first place.

Then why not vote them out when you have the chance? Do politicians represent the value of those who voted for them with every piece of legislation? If not, why not censure them before this? Why is this situation different?

Well it sure as hell wasn't Dems that voted these amoral sleazes into office. Seems like the pub voters created this problem in the first place. What does that tell us about Pub voters who evidently could not figure this out, or did not care enough during the last election to primary these scum out..

They very likely will be voted out. For many of those who voted to impeachment or convict Trump the biggest penalty has been a double digit drop in their approval ratings at home often seeing them plummet to near single digits In some cases this was simply the proverbial straw.

They're going to be primaried from the right. Maybe by a follower of QAnon since the party has welcomed them with open arms.

This is not surprising. I found it more shocking that any of them voted their conscience. These kind of deals are handled "off record" to get everyone's compliance. The only difference is we get to witness the bullying in real time now.

Pennsylvania Republicans are lashing out at Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) after he became one of the Republicans who voted to convict former president Donald Trump for inciting an insurrection on the U.S. Capitol last month.

“We did not send him there to vote his conscience. We did not send him there to do the right thing or whatever he said he was doing,” a GOP chair in Washington County, Dave Ball, told local CBS affiliate KDKA in an interview Monday. “We sent him there to represent us.”

Anyone who thinks Trump is not Dear Leader to a large part of the party any longer is sorely mistaken.

Burr's message is essentially the same as Sasse's. His state's officials have chosen blind loyalty to a would be despot over the interests of the country.

Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) slammed his state’s GOP committee over their unanimous decision to censure him on Monday night for voting to convict ex-President Donald Trump in the impeachment trial last week.

“It is truly a sad day for North Carolina Republicans,” Burr said in a statement. “My party’s leadership has chosen loyalty to one man over the core principles of the Republican Party and the founders of our great nation.”

If they want to keep their jobs, they better fall in line. All non-populist Republicans should run as Democrats. We do not want them anymore. They are not welcome here anymore or ever again. I am sure the Democrats will welcome them with open arms.

No good deed ever goes unpunished.

We now have one party that favors democracy and another that once favored the same, but has become a proponent for authoritarianism.

Above all other motivations, these people want to stay in office, but their other big fear is that Trump will form a third party, which would basically grant all election victories to the Democrats. I'm a liberal, and even I don't want that.

No 2+2 does not equal 935. We do not think Trump had any thing to do with it.

Pa. GOP party tell Pat Twomey who voted GUILTY on Dirty Donald impeachment, 'we didn't send you there to do the right thing or vote your conscience, we sent you there to represent us". In other words the GOP is saying we are all for lying cheating and stealing as long as it's in the party's interest, to hell with morality or Christianity. THAT'S THE PARTY LINE THEY WANT FOLLOWED?

It's funny. The GOP has been running up the national debt for the last 4 years with no repercussions. Say one bad thing about Trump and get threatened to be censured. It's sad that the party has devolved into worshipping one man vs. Upholding their ideology.

Sasse has one of the more conservative voting records in the Senate. He wasn't sanctioned over his policy positions. He was sanctioned over daring to call out Dear Leader's seditious acts.

Why would any political party admit that it supports and encourages liars and cheats??

So blind loyalty to a con man that can not even open a charity in a few states because he is so corrupt vs independent thought.
We will be happy to take them.

What was his little show put on by him and Rudy and others at the Ellipse just before the insurrection? He certainly wasn't encouraging them to attend Sunday religious services?
