This thread is a monument to that.

The windmill myth took off like a brush fire in right wing trash media. All the Trumpsters parroted it on their social media.,

When facts started to emerge that contradicted their political narrative, they assaulted the messengers and denied the facts.

That’s all right here on this thread.

This is a VERY typical right wing pattern, too. It repeats itself regularly.

California has the fifth-largest share of U.S. crude oil reserves and is the seventh-largest producer of crude oil in the nation.84,85 Reservoirs in the geologic basins along California's Pacific Coast, including the Los Angeles basin, and in the state's Central Valley contain major crude oil reserves. The most prolific oil-producing area in the state is the San Joaquin Basin in the southern half of the Central Valley.86,87 Several of the nation's largest oil fields, as ranked by reserves, are located there.88 Overall, California's crude oil production has declined during the past 30 years, but the state remains one of the top producers of crude oil in the nation, accounting for about 4% of total U.S. production in 2018.89,90

More alternate facts, yet you give none, or a source? President Trump did not lose because of Green Energy. Here is a BBC article that quoted voters on why they voted for Biden. Green energy was not in the Top five:
US election results: Five reasons Biden won - BBC News

The primary fact that caused Biden's win is the fact that social media blocked President Trump positive facts from being shown on their websites, and the fact that many voted before they knew about then VP Biden lied about his knowledge of Hunter Biden working for Bursima in Ukraine, and the fact that he took kickbacks for backing the firing of the Ukraine chief investigator that was investigating Bursima. A large number of voters wished they could change their votes for Biden.

I did not say that they generated enough power to offset those that froze. The output from the offshore wind turbines had to be reduced because the grid could not cope with the amount of electricity generated. I have said that more offshore turbines should be built as offshore wind is more reliable.

What is now undeniable are the claims in the OP being false

Completely disagree. Blackouts caused by electric power plants fueled by oil and natural gas are not shutdown because of winter storms. The power outages are cause by down transmission lines and blown transformers. Those same problems plague Solar and Wind power. So, you fail again.

It might have been downed transmission lines or blown transformers that would plague oil and natural gas electric energy, but the main problem was the frozen wind turbines. They would not turn to generate power. If you read my original post on this topic, you will see that I pointed out that offshore and deserts were the only places where there is a consistent 7 MPH winds to turn the turbines. But those location would only generate enough power for a limited area. I used the wind farm outside of Palm Springs as an example. They do not generate enough power to supply that one city They have to have backup from conventional power plants. So, wind and solar power are notoriously insufficient.

LOL You quote a BBC article listing the main reasons that Biden won then go on to make up a reason why Trump didn't win. Oh, and a large number of voters wished they could have changed their votes to Biden

You source? That nuclear power plant was shut down by a Biden Administration NRA for minor safety issues. Then they refused to answer emails from the media. It is a known fact that the Biden Administration is against Nuclear energy. They will do anything they can to shut them down.

To be fair posting a Rawstory link that you dont read past the headline is not sourcing anything.. Perhaps you got tired of your "sources" being ripped apart.

Gas didn't fail as you are claiming, there wasn't enough supply of it to operate to plants. The plant operators failed to have sufficient supply.

Frozen wind turbines not working also was part of the problem and to pretend that one problem cancels the other is fake news which is why the OP is false info.

Hardly their Coal industry was shut down.. this in part is the alternative.. the same type of power people like you push constantly and act like there is no down fall to it.

You are relying on quotes like this to prove your claim
“It appears that a lot of the generation that has gone offline today has been primarily due to issues on the natural gas system,” he said during a Tuesday call with reporters.

    "Appears"??? How scientific!

Why wouldn't it? It's climate change. You all act like the Polar Vortex is something new and it's never been cold in Dallas. FYI, coldest recorded temperature in Dallas was -8 degrees in 1899.

You're right. It is obvious that a lot of the generation that has gone offline today has been primarily due to issues on the natural gas system

Sure, discussing wind power has nothing to do with wind power.

No, trying to reword the issue isn't making you look any more credible.

The problem is that electric producing plants didn't have an adequate supply of natural gas for the demand put on it, which is human error due to poor planning. The other source of electricity, wind turbines, were offline due to freezing. BOTH problems caused failure.

Of course these events are not unique. I am positive that these events have happened in the past, well before modern record keeping. What is unique, is that had this been a heat wave, and temperatures were some 40F warmer, the AGW folks would be losing their minds screaming about the heat. But cold? They cannot be bothered. For some of the state, like where I live, this actually is historic. We have had roughly 3 days now that have broken all time coldest temperatures for the date, and for the month. Also, we have now had several days of coldest high temp in local history, coldest high temps for several days, and the longest stretch of below freezing weather ever. Now, that isn't to say that places in the midwest are far worse off, they are. But ,that is typical for their weather. I do find it amusing when folks call these events "polar vortexes" It reminds me of that stupid movie... This is winter. The lack of sun creates a lot of cold. It has to go somewhere.

The really sad part has been the number of folks who've died from the cold here. that doesn't seem to be getting a lot of press yet. Some folks here in TX haven't had power now for several days. The longer this lasts, the more folks are going to die. Lest folks forget the real costs of these conversations.
