That you don't sit there thinking that if you leave everyone alone they'll leave you alone. This is the Tibet theory and it doesn't work as Pearl Harbour and 9/11 proved. Removing Saddam with his WMDs and habitual invasion of his neighbours and destroying AQ in their Taliban safe haven of Afghanistan has certainly made the West safer.

Your lack of history knowledge is displayed every time you post about history. Pearl harbour was directly linked to the US interfering in the Far East. 9/11 was directly linked to the US interfering in the Middle East

911 was an inside job, and the foundation for the subsequent Global War Of Terror. Great for business if you're into war profiteering.

Saddam didn't have an active WMD program .. and Taliban/AQ was not destroyed. Where do you get these nonsense false narratives from ?

Obama spend most of the last decade arming and supporting AQ .. did you not get the memo ?

Didn't America 'get out' and find Iraq invaded by ISIS?
Maybe America ought to 'get out' of Europe and SE Asia (beginning with Taiwan?)
The problem then will be - WHO IS MOVING IN?

    What's that in your pocket?

I've not mentioned black helicopters or holograms or missiles.

All I've pointed out is that the Official Conspiracy Theory you embrace is contradicted by the facts and evidence.

Just the facts, Rob, if you can handle it.

ISIS was not an Issue in Iraq when Saddam was in power. America created the Al Qaeda/ISIS issue in Iraq by removal of Saddam and installation of a Shia Gov't.

Now you say "If we leave ISIS will move in".

ISIS has already moved in as have other militia's - and have been there ever since we removed Saddam.

Sure, accept that. If you make the mistake of invading Iraq you need to think through
    the consequences.
As an aside. The political left make a Big Deal out of Iraq (and yes, Iraq DID have WMD's)
and many of its failures. But the same people have forgotten the first gulf war which went
rather well - limited objectives, don't invade, good consensus etc..The prediction of the
Left was that this first war would ignite the whole Middle East and lead to ecological
catastrophe if the oil wells were fired. And, giving Sadaam the idea, he fired the oil wells.
    The 'prediction' became a suggestion.

    No conditions.
    No treaties.

Rather well how ? - I get what you are saying .. but the vast majority are very illiterate w/r to our foreign policy - with a few exceptions such as Vietnam and so on.. but that was then .. the the establishment learned its lesson from Nam - and has exerted firmer control over the media - not repeating the same "mistakes" .. such as actually reporting on the war :)

Desert Storm was a friggen disaster .. the whole Saddam raiding baby infirmaries turned out to be a complete false flag .. a complete lie .. Saddam was given tacit permission to move on Kuwait .. Just prior to that ... under Rotten Ronnie - We were supporting Saddam while gassing the Kurds and Iraq .. with real chemical weapons .. not the false flag kind in Syria -

Support continued into the Bush administration who increased funding to Saddam and his insane family.. this was after Reagan vetoed the "prevention of Chemical Weapons bill" which was to sanction Saddam for use of such weapons.

Moving forward - Sodom invades Kuwait - and we move on Iraq - dropping leaflets - telling the majority Shia to rise up .. and that is exactly what they do.. and they are taking over .. Saddam not able to use air power as we control the sky and have restricted him from it. Dirty Daddy Bush then lifts the restriction .. and Saddam crushes the Shia uprising with air power.

Then - Clinton comes along and Sanctions Iraq - killinog over a million .. Sodom wasn't suffering to much though .. Sanctions harm the people .. not the leaders. Then we had the war in Yugoslavia under heir Clintigator and Mad Madaline - this time though with support of the UN .. which made it quazi legitimate .. but not really .. as we had way more control over the UN .. mind you we did not have the security council ...we did initially I think but then we lost it .. China for sure was one that waffled and then sided against us .. Russia being the other who I think was alway against .. so .. OK .. not really legitimate but we had a majority of the UN at least...

Bad Precedent that one .. Annexing territory from a Sovereign nation .. Serbia.- and there is a long history that was completely ignored .. but that is another story..

It was Clinton's wife that turned out to be a much bigger Goblin .. her and bama lama .. who - nary a decade after 911 - decides that using Al Qaeda and affiliates as a Proxy army in Syria is a good idea..

Circling back to "Media Coverage" .. not to many FOX, CNN, MSNBC reporters on .. or reporting on .. the front lines. and some of the most hard core "SIN of Omission" the world has ever seen.. Adolf would be proud .

But even More Proud perhaps would be Edward Bernays "Propaganda" .. who really advanced the science of control and manipulation of the raging masses.

Up Side Down World Mate - and you are welcome . for this blast from the past :)

Won't go into a lot of this. Outside my scope. I don't think it was that simple
when people say Sadaam's gassing of innocents was accepted. Nothing is
that simple, ever. BTW Russia is still producing WMD's if they are using it
    on their own dissidents.
Even the Russians believed Sadaam still had WMD's - his excuse that he
'tipped it out in the desert somewhere' did not ring true. Probably went to
Syria in those huge convoys seen from space.
Iraq is a better country now. Yes, you can throw a shoe at someone and
survive the experience. And there's no more Iraqi wars.
Part of the problem during the Cold War was that you had to take sides
with nations you didn't like. If you didn't they would cross to the other side.
It was cynical, but expedient if you wanted to win that war.

I want out and if we should do so I would support it. On the other hand I voted to stay because I remember the last time we pulled out on accounta they wanted us to. Somebody should ask the question who wants us out and why. I have no idea why we are still in Afghanistan, Iraq I can understand.

Two flaws in your plan firstly what is the point of WMDs if the minute that they might be needed you ship them to another country and secondly the shelf life of WMDs is short. In summary, Iraq did not have any viable WMDs after the 90's/

Beside all this, why bother with WMDs when conventional missiles are much more destructive and accurate. WMDs are the west's "bogeyman".

We are downplaying WMD's here. If America restarted making chemical or biological weapons
there would be a hue and cry from the very same people who dismiss other nations having and
    using them.
You can bet the farm on it.
And 'conventional' weapons is a tricky one. I dropped a 25L tub of chlorine once, and got a dose
of what some Syrians have experienced. It's was just plain old swimming pool stuff.
And WMD's also include bacteria, viruses, radiological, nuclear weapons etc.. Israel ended Iraq's
attempt to build nuclear capabilities. And America ended Iraq's ability (and desire) to invade its
neighbors or kill its domestic dissidents. And that's a good thing.

Iraq had WMD's alright... when the US gave it to them.
After that, with the whole nonsense of portable labs to make antrax.... that's just all lies to start a war.
There were countless of inquires by the US, and none of them found anything except chemical waist that used to be WMD's.
All there is, is ill will to accept the GOP flat out lied about the evidence because of some weird patriotic ideals.

    a - America gave Iraq WMD's
    b - Iraq had no WMD's.

Both statements are disingenuous and essentially wrong.

Cold war had nuttin to do with Heir Sodom - had long since past .. the wall had already fallen long ago when Rotten Ronnie was allied up with Sodom - in a war against Iraq... and cold war was over - long before the wall fell.. So "What tu takin bout Leonard" ?

All that Commie BS was propaganda during the fun times in Central America - Russia wasn't involved in those wars in any "Cold War" capacity .. they were left wing popular uprisings .. folks wanting unions and stuff .. "Ahhhhhhh... COMMUNISM"

So we opened up the school of the Americas and started training the Soldiers of Death Squad dictators in terror tactics. Not a good moment in the Ronald/Bush history .. Daddy Bush being head of the CIA .. shipping coke into the US and arms back.. had to be covert cause congress would not authorize no money .. Dirty deeds.

You say > in a desperate attempt to say something - "There are no more Iraq Wars" ..as if this is not an exercise in thought avoidance .. No .. we have Syrian Wars and Yemen Wars and Wars in Afghanistan and we are still in Iraq..

but in a way you are right .. as since Iraq and sans Afghanistan .. we don't have many of our own troops doing any fighting ... and Syria is pretty much over .. while Yemen lingers on...

OK .. so why then is our Total Military Spend at 1.2 Trillion ? .. cause we ain't got nothing to do no more.

Well, without America's 'military industrial complex' (how else can you develop military tech?)
the Western world might be reading the thought of Marx now, and obeying whatever Stalinist
    would be in power.
After WW1 America made the mistake of disarming - it was caught napping by the Japanese
who bargained on it taking several years for this 'military industrial complex' to ramp up production
    of planes, tanks and guns.

Sure, cold war ended in about 1991. I stayed up and watched this, even took time off work
to see the Lenin and Stalin idols being toppled.
The Iran Iraq war was 1988 - and that's where the Soviets and Americans took sides. This
is mostly where Iraq gained its military industrial complex. And Sadaam used it against
Kuwait, and he wouldn't have stopped there as he saw Iraq as dominating the Arab world
in its crusade against the Zionists.
Let's be thankful we have a 'military industrial complex' in the world with its Stalins, Lenins,
Maos, Xi's, Sadaam Husseins, Osama bin Ladens, Pol Pots and Ho Chi Minhs.

Everyone wants us out - sans a few political folks who want US cash to keep flowing while playing both sides of the fence. The parliament voted on it for goodness sakes .. and it didn't go well.

We installed a Shia Gov't = same Islamic denomination as Iran ... don't like those Sunni's much - it is not like these folks do not know relatively recent history of the region .. and it is not a tale that inspires much love for good ol USA.

No .. the cold war ended long before the wall fell - Gorbechev Perestroika in the mid 80's Reagan Salt proposals in 1982.
The Soviet Union was bankrupt - and crumbling .. had much more on their mind than fighting a nuclear war with the US .. "MAD" was an accepted doctrine on both sides.. Anti Ballistic Missile Treaties had been enacted in 1972 - and had been observed.

"Thankful for the Military Industrial Complex" .. what a laugh - biggest welfare program on the planet that one is.

Not sure what fantasy world you are living in but there are no more Stalins/ Mao/ Adolfs and the others do not warrant attention in a conversation about justifying 1.2 Trillion ..

Sorry Pooh .. no big boogyman in massing troops on our border en mass .. on a scale of Adolf or Stalin.
