Wood is still keeping my house warm. I have a wood stove in the basement and a lot of trees. I supplement the wood with propane as my central heating runs on propane which is not uncommon in WV. I had a propane delivery yesterday. Under Biden propane prices are climbing on a daily basis. A tank of propane for me is now over $1400, so when spring comes I will be firing up the chainsaw. A few years ago I looked at solar. The return on investment was 15 years -- that is if no solar panels were to be destroyed by storms. With Biden at the helm, investment in old tech such as wood stoves may be a matter of survival in the future. Also, the Spring looks like a good time to get some chickens.
