It was scheduled for tonight, but now I see nothing about it and Wikipedia lists it as TBD.

Did Joe slip again chasing the dog's tail?

Joe needs another few weeks to prepare. His drug cocktail that makes him appear lucid on camera, needs some tweaking.

Can you imagine how many gaffs, screw ups and racist slurs Biden would make in a 90 minute speech? China will never allow him to go up there out of fear of losing him.

A 90 minute SOTU address from Biden would provide endless gaffes and entertainment...

According to the Constitution the president in his first term is to give an address to Congress in February but that speech is not considered a State of the Union. The Constitution does not actually called for a speech but a "report" which by the Constitution can be given in writing.

Thomas Jefferson refused to deliver the report in person so no speech.
Article II, Section 3, Clause 1 say the president is to give to Congress periodic information as to the Sstate of the Union so Constitutional requirement that the information needs to be in person or a speech.

If they wanted to skip this year they could blame it on COVID, although it would scream volumes about the Biden Administration/Democrat majority's ability to handle the outbreak if they couldn't managed to pre-screen and supply masks to a few hundred people for a couple of hours one night. Plan B would be to blame it on the Capitol Selfie Spree and pivot to the security threats that they intentionally ignored the first time and that no longer exist anymore.

Both sides think the same thing but no moderate thinks Biden won because of his clear headed arguments. They think he won because Trump made himself look like a bully picking on an old man with dementia.

Read the Constitution! There is no requirement to an inperson report by speech only "information" on thevstate of the Union.

Yes thank you, I'm aware of the first segment of that run on sentence that is a2s3. But you can bet that if Pres Biden's handlers don't want him spending that much time talking on his own their reasoning for it wont be so weak as to make this case.

The president could literally send a note on a cocktail napkin that says "all good," to meet the constitutional obligation.

We'll see how it shakes out. Likely COVID related.

I didn't condon Trump's behavior in that debate or his bullish behavior. I am not sure what your point is.

I’m pointing out the trend of claiming all his opponents are sick. It’s sad.

The Sargent at Arms has requested additional security — due to the Republican failed insurrection — and additional screening — due to COVID. Both are likely adding to the timeline.

Not a single person in connection with the riots has been charged with insurrection, and we've yet to hear any charges against Trump. The political hyperbole does not meet reality, just like any state of the union wouldn't meet reality so if people need one for reality I'll gladly give it:

-With several thousand score of businesses destroyed by rioting, seized control by the State governments in violation of any sane interpretation of private property, the US Economy is undergoing a massive shift that will take us several years, far past the first four years of an administration to recover.

-In addition, with the US Congress's political hack job of last month, the US Congress has sullied our image as we didn't "hold anyone accountable", but we did have the clown trial as I knew it to be. This sullies Congress as well and leaves little confidence that Congress can do its work for the people.

As proof of this. Congress is stalling still on infrastructure as well as the coronavirus aid packages. If Congress can't pass either, it should at least pass a law to allow the American People to go to work again in full.

Don't worry, we expect very little from this institution. Expecting anything more just leads to disappointment and anger.

Would you like me to post the definition of the word insurrection?

The issue is none of the bills have the support of even a single Republican in the Senate — since Democrats have only a simple majority the process takes much longer sue to the reconciliation process: https://www.cnbc.com/2021/02/05/sen...oward-1point9-trillion-covid-relief-bill.html

You can try and blame congress but the issue is like it normally is, the party of perpetual stalling, Republicans.
