Mitt Romney predicts Donald Trump will win 2024 Republican nomination if he runs again

I think by the time people see the incredible mess that the Biden squad will have created, a lot of democrats realize the party has left them and Trump is a good idea.

 

When hell freezes over.

 

I hope Trump runs and I hope he gets the nomination. He's less likely to be able to win than just about anyone else they could pick. Political parties don't run people who have lost elections for a reason.

If Trump didn't get the nomination, there would be a greater danger than Dems wouldn't turn out to vote, as in 2016. But Trump's presidency was the shot in the arm Dem voters needed to motivate them to turn out in 2020. On the other side, Trump has failed to expand his base since 2016. The inroads he made with some demographics were more than offset by losses elsewhere.

The GOP is in a real pickle. There is every reason to believe that if he ran again, he'd win the primaries again. The GOP need to distance themselves from Trump to broaden their support, but their base is a lot more loyal to Trump than it is to the party.

 

We came close to that last week; by the time the next election hits, I think you will be able to drive a tank over the ice.....

there are other GOP candidates that know they either go after trump or stay home..

Nikki Haley, little Marco, Ted cruz, and yes I will say it, light loafers lindsey graham all want to be president ..

the entire world watched trump meltdown and blow the election of 2020

all he had to do was shut his mouth and he would still be president ..

trump will beat himself once again

for the last 4 years trump has been able to use the presidency as a shield against lawsuits and his criminal behavior

he no longer has that shield and uncle sam is going to be after him full tilt boogie

when the fire under his ass gets hot, trump will suddenly become sick and have ailments

and him being sick may not be fake news and he may actually get sick

how long can a guy live on a diet of low cal soda and chicken and cheeseburgers??

he is borderline obese

from reading his tweets for the last 4 years, it is also safe to guess he suffers from insomnia

how long can trump last??

Absolutely. The GOP has abandoned principle and has replaced it with a personality cult. That's their REAL problem. Newsflash: When personality cult is your party's platform, you are in trouble when said personality falls out of favor.

What is active and relevant in 4 years time will make the decision.
He won't win if he splits the party and if Twitter keep him out of the public's ear.
and he will be older that Biden is now, so the reasons for not voting for him are already established by those who used age as a reason not to elect Biden.
and finally he will be embroiled in courts and possibly psychiatrists' couches.
I wouldn't bet the deeds to the ranch on reelection.

 

I think the reason it remains a possibility is because the cult of personality surrounding Trump leaves little room for a serious, issues oriented, moderate Repub candidate. Someone who can appeal to a constituency beyond Don's xenophobic base.

 

Whenever I read some soliloquy of Trump hate like this, I note the total absence of balance that is always a defining point.

It is Trump who is held responsible- regardless of the fact that if any other president were treated the way the MSM and left has done, the left and that same media would be screaming bloody murder and cursing those responsible. This is what has become the double standard; the escape from the responsibility to be fair and equitable in ones assessments, and to dismiss accountability for your own actions because you are mad at someone. Mostly in the case of Trump hate, because hate has been promoted into a powerful and sadly acceptable political weapon, and far too many people have proven so short in maturity and self-respect to reject being led down the path to that hostility, like spoiled children mirroring playground bullies.

Trump may not have a chance of becoming the nominee- but the Biden people are already paving the way by proving themselves to be unfit as leaders and unable to think in terms of serving the people rather than owning, dictating and controlling them. Thus while Trump as a person may not be on the next presidential ballot, Trump values and goals for America will be. As dishonorable people always to- the Biden people will live in fear of that, and it will come to pass.

trump is many things and "balanced" is NOT on of them.. "unbalanced' is more accurate

The media jumped on Trump like a pack of rabid dogs the day he announced he would run. Didn't wait for him to offend anyone, or to get on the ballot or elected. Imagine walking in the door to apply for a job, and getting trashed on the spot as soon an you say hello. Would you see those people as respectable? Of course not. But if they did that to someone you didn't like, you would join in, wouldn't you?
That's not evidence of "values", but a lack of them. The left is now telling Americans that we are all trash, and apparently you value that premise??

I realize you never noticed that kind of things going on- it was common practice, so it was OK.

Droves of people are walking away from the left, too. That may tell us that both sides are sick and tired of politicians being played like thugs on a school playground.

IF you treat people with at least curteous respect when you meet them, they will usually treat you with respect in return- and you can communicate. If you approach with animosity and insult them before you even say what you want, you can expect to be shown the door- and you have slammed it on yourself. Good people tire of the squabbles and fights, and often won't bother trying to properly hold the agitators responsible- they just want all of them to go away, to dis-associate themselves with the trouble.

You may remember that in many schools, teachers will punish both people involved in a fight- which is unjust to the person attacked, but encouraging to the attacker because they won again. That's the situation in politics today- people so lop-sided in judgment and character that they can't find the courage to start with respect. Do that long enough, and you have labeled yourself for years to come. A lot of people have sacrificed their own self respect, but most politicians just proved they never had any in the first place and have always been morally bankrupt. Perhaps that has become become obvious to a lot of people, and we can start throwing the trash out of office everywhere. That is, if enough of us still have the courage to think for ourselves.

I think Trump has no interest in running again. On the other hand I think he will continue to be involved in politics, just not in office. That opinion may be colored by what I would do if were he. I can't imagine someone wanting to go through what he did for four years. If he were to gain the presidency again, it would be even worse. Time to grab the clubs and go tee off. Have a rally every now and then.

 

Not yet they aren't. Right now, the left are doing great for numbers. They got a big boost from Trump's unpopularity. Liberals aren't passionately supportive of the Democratic party, but Trump swelled the numbers and they are at a high.

The pendulum swings back and forth and it isn't a permanent state of affairs, but right now, Dems are gaining support and the GOP is losing it.

I said from the time someone posted he was going to CPAC to make the case it's still his party that his only real interest is to use his celebrity to raise money for the various legal defenses he will be involved in. It's exactly what professional conmen do.

Yes, FISA warrants are the procedure to do a wiretap when the target is in the US, and a warrant is obtained from a sitting judge. So, is your beef with the procedure, or the judges issuing a warrant?
