Please don't feel you are wasting your time. The world needs fairy tales and that was classic.

Trump was very different. He was the worst President ever and will go down in history as such. He did virtually nothing to improve the nation except take credit for the work of others and turned back years of progress we had made toward making things better for everyone. At the end of his misrule, his repudiation of protocols which all nations had been working toward for the management of pandemics came home to roost and we lost more people to the resulting plague than we had lost in WWI and WWII combined. He was also the first President we ever had who tried a coup d'etat when he lost an election though in keeping with the rest of his administration it was more a black comedy than an actual political event.

Most of Grimm's were based on Folktales and the Folktales were often true criticisms of political blunders of the various times they were written in which had to be told as wild stories, fantastic metaphors, and allegories, or the Kings would behead the authors and burn the fables.

That wouldn't work here, nobody in his right mind would believe Trump as a story not even if you made him into a dragon

You mean you're fleeing the field because you have no comeback. Trump did lose the election but you live in a different world if you think telling people to protest 'peacefully and patriotically' means to attack Congress and his VP.

When did he do his coup d'etat exactly?

Just asking if he was a different sort of president is pathetic in itself. Who in their right mind would think any real President would act like trump. Like Aleksander said, if you wrote trump as a story, nobody would believe it.

Can you believe the difference with Biden in now? Getting rid of trump is like a screaming, wounded animal finally dying.

I believe Trump thought that the presidency was going to be a cake walk. Being a man who is all about Brand, he thought he could spend his time promoting himself and his POTUS brand and others would do all the work. Evidence of this was in his not reading his PDBs. He was also a man not used to being challenged, which led to many outright lies and misstatements when confronted by questions he couldn't answer.

    Begged?

    :roflol:

He didn’t say anything about stopping until it was apparent it was a failure, just like he is.

As long as anti-Trumpers keep confirming their delusions, they will never move on just like the "flat earther's". Still pounding the same old table.

When you have the facts on your side argue the facts, when you have the law on your side argue the law when you don't have either pound the table and shout and when you don't even have that break out the emojis!

How was it a failure exactly? The rioters left the capitol because they were done, the National Guard didn't turn up for hours later.

Correct. They left because they were done. Not because of trump.

And I break out the emojis when such a well thought out joke is told.

Really? What other Presidents tried to stage a coup when they lost the election? What did Trump do that was not rooted in Obama's policies? Whose anti-pandemic policies did Trump discontinue in 2017?. Ignorance of what is going on about you is characteristic of rightists, or they would not exist at all.

    .

It's Trump's quirky personality and unusual populist style [that Dems and Neocons hate] that attracts so many diverse people to him.

No, it is the sanity of his policies when compared to the absolute nuthouse that had become the status quo in America today.

While that may be true about his policies... it's his persona that first attracts people to him.

If Trump were a dull and boring man... those same policies might not seem as attractive.

Never underestimate the value of packaging!

His persona repelled me. I came to appreciate him after he was elected and watching him work. I never watched his TV show and I never quite got into his speaking style.

Did you watch his many huge mega rallies?

That's where his personality shined and he made a personal populist connection with his supporters.

Hitler also used huge rallies to connect with his German people and they loved him!

I did not. You know who else used rallies and speeches to connect? Obama maybe? He was the most charismatic speaker since Reagan and Kennedy. I never heard anyone compare him to Hitler.

Is a failed anything what it was intended to be or what it was? It meets the definition of sedition, of insurrection, of domestic terrorism — but no, it doesn’t meat the definition of a coup.

They were too much of failures to be successful thankfully, not surprised seeing the cult they were involved in.

You're flannelling, there was no coup or insurrection, just a riot by a small proportion of the disaffected.

Trump's modus operandi was to be 'different' from others. It was a tactic to destabilize the opposition and worked amazingly well and consistently, showing the weakness and shallowness of that opposition. Any serious opponent could have dismantled him quickly.
