2010 I changed from Pub to Ind. I did this for a variety of reasons, none of which are worth getting into But 2 matters have made me return 1. As a Florida resident, I got tired of being shut out of the Primaries 2. Trumpism In 2020 Florida put the "Ind voters" issue on the ballot. We needed 60% to allow Ind voters to vote in the Primaries. We only got 57%. So this is only way I know how to help with the modern day intolerance of the far right Primaries: Now that my vote will count, I will Vote for a Conservative who I know does not Endorse or support Trumpism. Otherwise, noone will get my vote Gen Election: Any Pro Trumper will not get my vote. State Election: DeSantis is out. Charlie Crist may be running again. Gawd I hope so Ofcourse I realize I am only 1 person but I have to do my part. The intolerance in our Government has to be kept in check. If Lincoln was alive today he would be outraged
In California and Colorado, independents can vote in the primaries. In both states, you ask for a Dem or Repub ballot at the polls or in an absentee request. Or, in CO, there's a website where you can specify it, but you have to do it early because this is an all-mail-in state.
