It appears to me the left is saying that being smart enough to be in advanced school programs is racist. So in order to eliminate the appearance of racism, the smart kids are going to be penalized.

In spite of skin color, eye shape and other physical differences, we're supposed to believe the minds of all humans evolved equally, isn't that right? So if that's the case, the only reason why some students do well as a whole and others do not is culture and how they're raised. Those are the things that should be addressed and not imaginary racism. Calling everything and anything racist, or being woke, or claiming to be tolerant, inclusive and non judgemental means/solves nothing when when you intentionally put bigoted and discriminatory policies in place based on race.

The left claims to be the highly educated and intellectual elite among us, but it's going to be hard to continue making that claim when they make poor decisions like this and literally hold back future highly educated intellectual elites based on feelings. And given the left's obsession with minorities, based on the demographics of Boston's public school system, Asians and White ARE the minorities.

Not diverse enough means there weren't any questions on the exam about animals in Africa. In case you were curious.

Not diverse enough means there is still a white person or two lingering around.

Another alternative would be to provide the program and give everybody an equal opportunity to take advantage of it. Government should treat people equally, not "fairly" or "with equity." Let anybody who qualifies and wants to be involved be involved. Be color blind. Treat everybody equally. Eliminating the program sounds like a negative thing to do.

I was a public high school teacher for a year. That was in the 1960's. We still did government with common sense in those days and I still couldn't stand it. I loved the teaching. I couldn't live with the politics. I doubled my salary when I went to work for a business.

And that is where this is all going. The left is going to get rid of nuclear weapons by giving everyone spears because that is the only thing they are sure their constituents can handle.

That's exactly what they're doing now. Color-blind meritocracy is the ultimate racism.

    Didn't you get the memo?

Schools are no longer about bringing every student up to their highest possible achievement level. The wokester policy is that every student need to be dragged to to exactly the same low level, because "equity".

They used to pretend it was something else, but they've gone so crazy lately, they're saying the quiet part out loud now.

Apparently they don't believe that the country was founded on the concept of equality. They think the idea is to make everyone equal by treating people unequally. People aren't equal. But they should expect equal treatment by government.

I wish I had the entrepreneur skills of some of the founders of great American companies. I've been good enough to live reasonably safely and well for the past 30 years but I have never been good enough to get wealthy. No complaints. Nobody else but me gets credit for my successes and failures and I'm proud of that. Government doesn't need to make me equal. It just needs to leave me alone.

Of course, you do know that if you posted such a honest assessment on some of these other social media websites, you would have your account taken down. Just like you would be wrong to step out of your house and notice a couple guys sitting in a car :smoking::smoking: smoking and taking pictures of you with a high grade camera. It ain't Zillow. :wtf:

Please explain what exactly the district is doing. The linked article is very short and doesn't seem to go beyond echoing a growing narrative attacking education.

Your thinking is one reason you more than likely will succeed. You don't have to start a company and have all the heartaches of getting it off the ground. Depending on your stomach for risk there are enough Funds to slowly invest in and eventually you'll hit your goal. I'm 79 and I'm investing like I'm 30. Real Estate (your home), company 401 or personal diversified stock and Bond fund, and after your bills are paid and you have some left over, precious metals ( Gold, Silver, High Grade Coins, & Bit Coin) & cash should get you there. My wife's father taught me that when everyone's selling that's the time to start buying and when everyone's buying like crazy that's the time to take some profits.

    Don’t interrupt them!

Gateway Pundit panders to their angry white racist audience with a vitriolic lead spinning a largely innocuous story.

None of them researched the story. I’ll wager that most of them didn’t read past the headline of the thread.

And the usual suspects are in full fledged circle jerk!

    Leave them to it.

I'm 76 years old and have been self employed since 1997. The other day I was musing over a business idea I had and I had to remind myself that I am old to be starting a new one and should spend my time on the one I already operate. I guess I was thinking like a 30 year old for a while myself. :)

The school board was hearing the song by the Jungle Animals – "I Wanna Be Like You" that the majority were singing but instead of trying to upgrade the program they decided to cancel it.
Now the song that the 20% are hearing in their heads is Guns N’ Roses – Welcome to the Jungle.

They have a test and if you do well on the test, you get the opportunity to enter the lottery for the seats. Since the enrollment is plummeting and they have only roughly 1 in 4 of those who qualified enrolling, then a pause might give them time to rethink either the enrollment process or the way the classes are conducted in order to make it more appealing to students, including minority students that seem to be woefully underrepresented in the advanced program. Making it more appealing could be changing the ways in which "more work" is done, adding perks like field trips just for those students, or otherwise addressing what it is that makes 3/4's of those who qualified uninterested.

There is a code among some minorities that is a roadblock to there being able to advance to programs like that. Enforced by their own peers. It is, "Why are you are trying to act too white?"

Suspending advanced classes for a year because they are too white is innocuous? Tell that to the parents of the students who are being affected.

You post suggests that cancelling this school program is so off the wall that it's not possible, but it is. So now, instead of saying the story can't be true, you're going to have to defend your comrades because we know you won't criticize them. And the Gateway Pundit has a link below the story where you can submit a correction if you have one. Do you?

Here's a link to the original story

Then have the students do a rap competition. IDK. Road blocks often can be addressed. I understand what you are saying, and don't disagree with it, but if they want the program to be successful, they need to put some thought into revamping it.

Public schools in this country are circling the drain ... I don't care if this comes across as racist but if your kid has to go to a school loaded with minorities (unless Asians), they are not going to get a good education ...

say what you will about Catholic schools, but that's where my kids went and all 3 went to good universities on either full or partial scholarships ... my grandkids will do the same ...

I went to a Catholic school up through 6th grade and it set me up to live a proper and respectful life. Instead of what kids are allowed to do in schools today, they taught us act like a civilized human being. We had to stand up when speaking, wear uniforms that were ironed and the shirts tucked in. We had to address the nuns as Sister Mary or whatever her name was, and the priests as Father Hank or whatever his name was. There was no talking to other kids when the teacher was speaking and I'd bet my life that if cell phones were around back then we wouldn't be allowed to have them at our desks. Today's public schools seem more like jungles and war zones compared to what I went through.
