White author won't translate Amanda Gorman's works after criticism it was inappropriate

It's just getting more insane. Who cares who translates it as long as they have the ability to translate it? Are socities resegregatimg themselves:

Was there ever a time when a white man couldn't process the works of another white person regardless of their ethnicity? Like, say, a white person of indeterminate background singing an Irish folk song?

Anyway, the Black existence is unique, so this situation is inappropriate, and there's got to be a Black person somewhere that can translate from English into the Duch language.

I would say whites have no business translating works by a Black author while she is still alive.

 

Why do white people subject themselves to this bull-piss all the time? I know we're supposed to be nice and all but there has to be a limit.

So called historians made it appear that there were only two kinds of people in all of Europe- English and French. The 17 or so Slavonic countries were treated as if we were ghosts and if that stinking Russia did not decide to become murderous Bolsheviks and commit political genocide they/ it also would have been ignored.

I just about had to explain to moron teachers in high school that Slovenians are not the same as Slovakians and no no no fornicating no Hungarians are not Slavs they are not even called Hungarians but Magyars and descended from Turks- Iranian and Magyar tribes.

So non Aramaens and non Hebrew should never have been allowed to translate the Bible. Exclude the Greek and Romans too. The King James Version of the Bible should never have existed.

Anyone who is intelligent and can see the forest from the trees knows that this White resentment is what Trumpocity tapped into. Ok, so, here's the deal: if you know why blackface is wrong, then it's the same reason why a white man shouldn't translate a black woman's work.

If you don't know why blackface is wrong, then it's because a black person was overlooked and passed by to play a role. And it was played by a white person instead.

By this logic no black person ever will ever the right to translate the words of a white author (or indeed an author of any other race) if the author concerned is still alive. And the same would obviously apply to any other form of artistic endeavor.

It may have escaped your notice but every human being on the planet has a unique experience and therefore a unique perspective of life. That is part of the human condition. So what gives you the right to assert sovereignty over the perspective and world view of every other Black person on the Globe? Because by doing so... congrats your putting yourself right up alongside all the great tyrants of history.

 

For some reason this triggered a memory of an interview I saw once where I cannot for the life of me recall who the author was. Anyway the person ended up helping translate one of their own books from english to russian so that it could be illegally distributed on the internet (illegal as in copyright infringement) because the author was sick of these copyright thieves butchering his works and distributing them with his name attached to them. During the course of helping them, the author discovered that the person he was helping was something like a science teacher who was being paid to translate books for illegal distribution on the side for a few hundred dollars a month even though the science teacher was horrible at the job.

Anyway, this ties into that whole mentality that straight people shouldn't play gay characters, etc etc.

 

And this is why people voted for Trump.
