Florida COVID cases at record high as deaths also rise

Republicans from Trump to Hannity to Levin to people on this board continue to point to Florida and its incompetent terrorist Governor, MoRon DeathSantis, as if the state were some shining beacon of excellence. But even with the Governor's latest (13th in total now IIRC) attempt to manipulate Florida's numbers by scaling back the state-to-county supply of testing materials (which resulted in about 200,000 fewer people tested this week vs last) the numbers continue to climb.

This is not what success looks like. No matter how satisfying it is to point the to epic failures of Democrats like Cuomo and Newsome, Florida is by no means a win for the belligerent and ignorant Republican anti-masking re-open crusading attitude.

 

Over a year now and I don't know anyone who's gotten it much less died from it. Too much hype you think?

 

I think too much indifference, too much selfishness, too much ignorance, and too much tolerance for lies and conspiracy theories.

 

No, not too much hype but definitely self-destructive actions by governments on a scale I've never seen. The virus is deadly for 1-2% of those who contract it. Crushing the global economy will certainly kill tens if not hundreds of millions who depend on food and other help from that economy. There can be no serious doubt that this virus is being used to execute plans long in the making.

 

After the bogus PCR tests, hype is the other cornerstone of the Scamdemic.

Funny anecdote: I went to buy my water at a small store I've patronized for years. The owner is a very nice man and that's why I go there. He has been wearing the mask religiously since this began, and I wear the mask just to keep him from becoming anxious.

Yesterday I went in wearing the mask, and he wasn't. I asked about it as I was taking mine off, and it turns out he became infected, mild symptoms and positive test. So he makes the 6th person I know who wore the mask faithfully but became infected anyway.

We laughed and shook hands as I paid my bill. Slowly the herd comes to its senses, but only one by one.

 

And I know a guy who didn't like wearing a mask, caught Covid and spent 3 weeks in the hospital, one week in ICU,
and is now looking at months of rehab and lost work.

It's a roll of the dice as to how severe you get it. Why increase your odds of inhaling a direct load of the virus by not
wearing a mask? Oh well, Darwin at work.

 

99.8 percent of those infected survived just fine.

I believe even St. Fauci dismissed street quality masks were not effecive against viruses. Follow the science nano particles are called that for a reason. They say all the covid viruses in the world could fit inside a coke can. Sorry no links but you know how to google stuff.

 

That’s from early Jan. We’re at less than 1/2 that now. And NY is still worse. And considering how many elderly we have and how much better our economy has survived. Sorry, but Desantis beat Cuomo by every measurable factor and never had to lie about deaths. Too bad.

No one has ever got one pregnant when wearing a condom during sex.

 

I've know several people who have had it, but none who were at death's door. I was told today that the husband of a lady I barely know just indirectly died from it this past week. Had been on a vent since Christmas and technically died from a septic infection he developed while laying there for two months.

I merely stated that one who wears a condom never gets anyone pregnant as a means to show you nothing is 100% guaranteed.

The standard mask is not about protection, but about spread. Even if you wear a N95, because your eyes are not protect you can get the virus.
Forgot to clean your hands and than rub your eyes, or walk through a clowde of droplets. Bingo

 

I am waiting to see if the P1 variant gets a strong foothold in Florida. If it does, we are back to square 1 as a nation. If having had covid doesn't protect most people from a second infection with that strain, it very well may break through the vaccination wall as well.
