Trump was honored with the 'Bipartisan Award' by Black Leaders for Criminal Justice Reform.

Trump was honored for helping pass the FIRST STEP ACT, which helps ex-offenders find new purpose outside of prison.

This award is the highest honor given annually to a public servant who has demonstrated the ability to work across the aisle to achieve meaningful progress in reforming our criminal justice system.

This organization was founded by 20 Black Republicans and 20 Black Democrats in 2015, to elevate the issue of criminal justice reform above partisan politics.

Trump received applause from the crowd when he noted that the legislation undid what he called the "unjust provisions of the 1994 Clinton Crime Law."

Trump said his administration focused on the needs of Americans who live in inner cities, slamming past administrations for spending trillions of dollars on Middle East wars.

    On a side note:

Black unemployment under Trump hit its lowest level in American history.

Even our former half black president obama who was raised by two Communist parents couldn't manage to help urban Black Americans when it came to reforming our justice system or in initiating any policy that would help them to get back into the workforce.

How true Trump's words were and are in saying that no president has done more for the Black People Then I have since Abraham Lincoln. Has anyone noticed that the two presidents that have done more to help Black Americans have been Republicans? Interesting!

Are people on the LEFT still calling Trump a White Supremacist? LOL!

very funny how this supposed "white supremacist" did more for minorities than any president in history besides Lincoln (also republican BTW!)

He's come a long way from demanding the execution of innocent minors. Glad to see that prison reform was one of the few things he did well, in high-profile cases, at least.

Johnson did a hell of a lot more. And all of the things Trump is taking credit for in "doing more" are economic claims that no one who can read a graph can actually credit him for.

Dude - ending segregation was a far more impactful event than The Donald signing legislation that was created by
other Congressmen. He didn't create the legislation, he just signed it.

But whatever. You can congratulate Donald on his leaving office with higher black unemployment than when he entered office
    if you feel the need.

And even that would involve said failure to consult a graph. I'll give him credit for some of the prison sentences he commuted, but that's about it.

    @Libhater
So, upon looking into it a little further, I'm not actually sure he even got the award. Maybe he did, but the OP article says that the award was given by the 20/20 Bipartisan Justice Center. I've found some of their award winners on their website, but I don't see Trump there in the awards anywhere. He very well could be lying about it and just calling himself a "winner" of the award because someone nominated him, just has he suggested with the Nobel Prize. He's lied about receiving other awards in the past, of course. What kind of unhinged lunatic needs to do that?

Well since when I point out that Dems elected a black POTUS twice, and they have more minority congressmen than repubs and you guys STILL insist that Dems are more racist I am absolutely still calling Trump a White Supremacist.

The facts say otherwise. Not whether Trump deserved the award, or what input he had into the law, but simply by looking at the campaign. Trump couldn't say black lives matter. Someone so proud of his support for the black community would say black lives matter without thinking.

Joe Biden is POTUS because of the black community. If this law is as great as the award suggests, why didn't Trump use it to reach out during the campaign? The answer is obvious.

His 2020 Campaign was CRAP and he didn't talk about the right things. Like Hunter Biden for example, nobody cared. This in NO WAY however, takes away from the things he did for minorities including blacks.

He did some good things for high-profile cases, and First Step was a good move . . . though one he did nothing but sign and which had a veto-proof majority. It would have passed even if he had chosen to veto it, and I don't recall him playing any real role in promoting it.

As for the other things he supposedly did for minorities, he mostly brags about unemployment rates among them, which have been declining at about the same rate since 2010. Again, the only people who credit Trump for the economy are those who are either incapable of reading a graph or unwilling to do so.

Very astute of You. :clapping: Notice how many of the responses try to deflect from giving Trump credit for his people loving actions when it comes to his policies reforming the justice system. Notice none of them used our first half black president obama as being one who did anything at all to address criminal justice reform--especially reform that would help out the overly black representation in our prisons. Notice there was no mention of America's First Black President (Bill Clinton) of his unjust provisions of his 1994 Clinton Crime Law as ridiculed by Trump.

Meanwhile black home ownership fell to it's lowest level ever in 2019, a supposedly great year for the Trump administration.
