People are free to try to claim the President told everyone should wash their with hot water as if the President was suggesting should "sterilize hands" with 150 degree water.

That's odd. I have baths and showers using hot water and I'm still alive and have no third degree burns. No wonder companies that manufacture disinfectants and bleach had to issue warnings saying do not drink this product as it will kill you as many seem to lack common sense including you. And if you didn't understand the science, when you wash don't just use water as discussed in your link, there is a product called soap which works in conjunction with hot water to kill the virus in seconds. Soap doesn't work so well in cold water

 

Actually, apparently it is the action of soapy water is the critical factor.

The soap bubbles disrupt the ability for the virus and bacteria to maintain their integrity. Disinfectants are nor critical. Bubbly soap for the recommended 20 seconds or more, hot or cold, no 150 degree water required.

I gave you the time and temp it takes to accomplish that and the results of doing so.

 

So people do have them set up to 140F and mix with cold to get down to temperatures that won't burn you but then that temp won't kill the virus. It's the SOAP that kills the virus when you wash your hands not the water washing with cold water is just as effective. Do you know how soap kills the virus?

You gave the temperature range (not necessarily of water) to kill the virus. Hand-washing isn't just about temperature. The temperature of the water isn't really that significant, though soap does work better with hot water rather than cold. The primary way hand-washing removes viruses (not just the COVID virus) is the chemical action of the soap and the abrasive action of rubbing your hands together.

And don't bother with "He didn't mention soap" angle. If you don't know that "Wash your hands" implicitly means with soap and water, you need to go back to Mommy and ask her to teach you again.
