So, let's say someone mails in a ballot that isn't theirs. The signature isn't going to match the one on the voter registration so it should get tossed. Do you know that's not what happens?

Isn't that the same argument that was used to not allow women and black people to vote in the past?

Did you not know that during the last election ballots were still counted even when the signatures didn't match?

I read that was one of the claims made. I wasn't aware that anyone proved it to be true, though.

Believe me, there are dumb whites too. I do want a filtered political pool(I also want a filtered political candidacy so as to be utterly blunt about it.) I'm a darwinist. Only the best of the best, when mediocrity becomes acceptable it breeds contempt and future mediocrity.

Yeah it is a no brainer especially when their legal argument to the supreme court is this ridiculous

    https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/arizona-gop-lawyer-tells-supreme-200813978.html
Arizona GOP lawyer tells Supreme Court the party needs certain voting restrictions to compete with Democrats

So, how does passing a Civics test show that a person is well-informed about the candidates and their platforms? Millions of people pass all kinds of tests every single day and some of them aren't able to apply that knowledge to real world applications.

P.S. I didn't say that women and/or black people are stupid.

Who says you are the educated voter !!!!

when the real attack on democracy is to allow the lowest educated among us to vote.

Obviously most of them would've failed said civics course. Is it a perfect barometer? Maybe not, we might miss a few educated people who though educated have little interest in voting.(and BTW, I hold that to be perfectly in their right.)

If we viewed voting as a monopoly, then this is clearly to get a monopoly of voting for the 'democracy' which would massively violate anti-trust laws.

I think HR1 needs to be passed, somehow, someway....

Executive orders are not the way to govern, unless you have half of the Senate acting as obstructionist weenies...

    Oh.... we do.....

That is my concern too. I would like to see this get passed so it doesn't get undone with the next Administration. There's been too much of that happening.

Safe to conclude that you reside on a Republican plantation that is supportive of the Goo Goo Syndrome?

The late Paul Weyrich, co-founder of the Moral Majority, was no fan of those so-called “good government” types.
“They want everybody to vote,” he told the Religious Roundtable in August 1980. “I don’t want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people. They never have been from the beginning of our country, and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”
Weyrich died in 2008, but his philosophy lives on.

Question #1: Who, in a fair and just election, won the 2020 Presidential Race?
    A) Biden
    B) Trump
    C) none of the above

That should knock out some of those idiots.

Every extra vote that they get through unlawful interpretations of Section 2 hurts us. It's the difference between winning an election 50-49 and losing an election."

So voting at your assigned precinct is now a voting "restriction"?

Could your article be more dishonest?

I think the GOP is well aware that they have a problem where a majority is concerned, and instead of changing their platform and policies to attract more voters, which would require hard work, compromise, and concensus building, they've decided that cheating is their best option.

Obstructionist weenies or the Constitution defenders?

What are the Democratic voters want more than anything else? They want Government money. And that is bad, for Benjamin Franklin had said,

When the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic.”

It isn't about white supremacists. It's about the GOP not wanting to do the work required to appeal to more voters, so instead they try to supress the vote on the districts where they know they're weak (mostly minority districts), and/or gerrymander like hell, as they've been doing for decades.

I don't want a one party system, even if I mostly agree with that party's policies. We learn nothing, gain no insights into one anothers' views, with only one voice speaking.

We need to all be working from the same facts, the same truth. But if the populists who support Trump keep making deep inroads into the GOP, or split off and become a separate party, the Democrats will likely keep winning, and I don't want that.

I would like it very much if the GOP returned to the logical, reasonable conservatives they once were.
