Feeling any more sympathetic to Meghan Markal after Oprah interview?

It is William and Kate that work in the mental health area . Harry likes s the invictus games.....( sports for the handicapped)- challenged . Meagan is into rights.... Women's rights and role in society.

William was helpful in getting Harry into treatment when he was into drugs.& drink......which got him into trouble. behavior wise.

Mental health would be important to both of them. Don't yet know how they plan to use Netflix and spotify. I guess we will see.

Word s that William is very angry with Harry now. Not sure they would be doing all that much together.

He drank underage and smoked a bit of pot when he was 16.
His father made him spend a day talking to recovering cocaine and heroine addicts at a rehab centre.

He was not ''in treatment''.
He did not have behaviour problems.
He just drank and smoked a bit of pot like most other 16 year old kids.

Jeez, this is the sort of intense scrutiny and dishonest/exaggerated reporting he has had to put up with his whole life.

You really think one interview with Oprah is really going to make any difference to how he is treated by the press?

 

Meghan is not half Negro or even one fourth Negro. To me she looks southern European. Kamala Harris looks the same. They are playing the race card because it has become fashionable.

Harry doesn't have to be involved with his brother to carry on drawing attention to mental health issues. Talking about his own issues to Oprah is just one way of doing that.
They didn't ''drop out of other causes'' they lost their positions as ambassadors of many charities and other organisations. It was not their choice to do so and they made it clear that they were not happy about it at the time and had wanted to carry on with their work after they stepped back from royal duties.

Admittedly, I saw not a single moment of the famous, or shall we say infamous Meghan interview, but from what I gather, it was not a shining moment in the history of the royal family.

No, I don't. It might l depend on how many statements and complains/ lawsuits they make starting now. .......as that would keep things churning. The might just learn to live with the press. The press and tabloids just seem to love it when they react or do something controversial. They have made one thing evident... They will not remain quiet. ......so if that feeds the tabloids....... Maybe they should stop trying to control the press and the royal family. The fallout might not be what they want.

They have had other unfavorable moments before........and survived. Any changes might come from the younger royals.

The Royals were what they were all along. You can go back and I mean way back when their existence began. There is a lot to look up.

 

I never considered the British Royal family to be racist. I considered them to be like anyone else. I don't see anything special about them. That's just the way they are.

 

I was just wondering, What does Piers Morgan have against Meghan Markle anyway? Is this a racist thing? The Brits are going to have to accept that Meghan is the way she is and that's how it is and that's the way it will stay.

 

Kamala Harris Father came from Jamaica. Mother came from India.

Actually.....I don't think they are ...........as they can't be. They head a commonwealth of many countries........with many different cultures and pigmentation. They have to be a lot more worldly than that.

I think someone made a tactless comment and there has been a world wide over reaction to it. Meagan is extremely sensitive to the race issue

One cannot change others , but one CAN change how one reacts to them..........or handles them. Seems this pair has chose n how they will handle things...... and it is via law suits, public complaints and making their position statements very vocal.& public.

As long as they want to remain in the public eye...... how they handle it.......will determine their character too. There are many famous , people who have had to deal with tabloids etc......... and fund a constructive responsible way of doing it. without hanging their dirty laundry out for everyone to see. Notoriety brings its own set of rules and responsibilities. That is just reality.

Charles visited him. But no it is not a "normal" family. The queen does not do hospitals.

She seems to have very strict rules and complies to them. Then there i s her age. Attitudes don't change all that easily when one is tied to so much tradition and ritual. Not sure any family can be "normal' when they grow up in that environment. and those family "dynamics". They are all born into a set of expectations. It can't be easy to be such symbolism to so many people.......all of whom have their own expectations of them. ( and plenty of opinions too

Not that I think any of these comments makes him a racist, just a bit out of touch with what it is acceptable to say these days. He might have been more suited to a career as a stand up comic than the Queens Consort...

 

This is where his/ their age comes in. They are from a different generation......... and things are drastically different now. They adapt a bit slower because of all that. I agree. He/ they are not racist.......but he is known to be a tad tactless and opinionated. In the final analysis.......so what??

I have seen the queen in person......... and when one sees her in person........ she is like any other human being just more formal.

I'm in lockdown so I've got a better idea of what American's think than fellow Brits but the polls seem to indicate a fairly even split between approve, disapprove and don't care and when adjusted for age the support for the couple is strongest amongst the young.
I fed Harry when I was working on army training camps about 15 years ago. He had no special treatment, he ate in the field out of hotboxes like everyone else. Not a butler in sight.

 

Both Prince Phillip and Her Majesty are said to have a very good sense of humour.
