My family and I have the China virus

My mother-in-law, wife and son all developed symptoms on 2/28 and then the wife tested positive on 3/4. On the same day I tested negative. On 3/8 I had symptoms and On 3/11 I tested positive.

My son has no sense of taste and that’s it. He’s fine.
The wife had a 104 fever last week and went through a few real bad days. She still feels sick 12 days later but she’s getting better.
The MIl went to the hospital and was released and told to watch her oxeygen levels.
I have no sense of taste or smell and can’t sleep.

4 people, 4 different reactions to the virus. My wife, kid and MIl all showed symptoms on the same day, it took me a week to have any and I tested negative when the person I share a life and bed with was positive.

Strange times.

 

Sorry to hear it. I hope you and your family recover nicely. Sounds like nobody is developing a severe case, only mild to moderate cases, which is a relief.

They say there are actually effective treatments now. You'll be all right.

A lung function test could be a good thing after feeling reasonably well to see if there any long term loss of pulmonary function when some strong symptoms.

Its good to know if extra care needs to be taken in the future.

 

For a month I had a bad cold or a mild case of the Trump Virus. My temperature rarely gets above 97.9. The last time I checked it was 96.4. When I was sick it got up to 99.9. I had a runny nose and a dry, hacking cough. For a week I had a bad back ache. One day I had a stomach ache, constipation, and diarrhea.

The sovereign remedy. Cream of Chicken, slightly "chunky" with just a little condensed milk. Just a soupcon of turmeric is both tasty and beneficial to my experience

I perceive that you are receptive to military discipline. My orders are that you recover speedily and thoroughly. You are needed and missed.

 

Hope you and your family get well soon. Remember that the ones developing the bad cases usually don't know until a week or more into symptoms. Don't want to scare you, but just keep watching the oxygen levels with a pulse oximeter. The scary thing about this disease is that people's oxygen can drop really low and they are not even aware of it. That's why many go to the hospital too late.

Also, just take it easy. One hypotheses about covid long haulers is that they overexert themselves too quickly, which allows the virus to go to the heart etc. You don't want to get peri/myo-carditis.

I've had three relatives test positive in the last 6 weeks, all with minor symptoms.

 

Every one I've spoken with who have had it spread through their family cluster have had similar varied symptoms. One had the intestinal symptoms, one had the chest symptoms, one had no symptoms, one just felt bad, etc.

I am on the backside of an early summer head cold. It played out like every other head cold I've had in my life. Gushing mucous leads to no sleep at all for 1 night, 3 hours the second night, sweet dreams on the third night. Still mild congestion today, but I feel much better now that I've been able to sleep well for 2 nights.

Friends asked if I was tested, and I said no. The test is meaningless, as demonstrated by Elon Musk some months back.

Why try to diagnose a condition by using a test not designed for diagnostic purposes?

You will survive just as 99.9 % of all the others have survived.

It sucks and I'm losing weight because of it. I now stop eating when I'm full rather than cramming down stuff just because it tastes good. I can taste salt, the heat from spicy food, and this is something to think about, I can't taste Diet Coke but I can taste the chemicals that are in it.

 

On the day my wife tested positive I went to the same Urgent Care for my test which was negative. I asked the doctor about the accuracy of the test and he said they're 60-80% accurate. The Dept Of Health called me twice so far and they don't take symptoms as a sign of having the virus, they want test results.

 

Indeed, we like our head-butting and dissing, not hatred.

 

I hope for the speedy recovery of you and yours! My wife (God rest her) had surgery to clip a brain aneurysm and three days later lost forever her sense of taste. She described it EXACTLY as you, salt, heat from spice, and chemicals from certain (not all) colas. What I've found most troubling about this virus is the literal galaxy of symptoms it produces. Very odd.

 

Speedy recovery to you and yours. Chicken soup, a bit of colloidal silver and quercetin will have you regaining your sense of smell in short time.
