The Trump reelection campaign and it's fraudulent campaign contribution forms fine print conditions generated over 3% of all fraudulent credit card claims during calendar year 2020.

Yeah, I understand people thought they were making a one time credit card donation and their donation amount ended up being deducted MONTHLY from the credit card because of some little box the donor failed to notice and mark. The guy just can't pass up an opportunity to screw someone.

One correction. They did this WEEKLY.

    Excerpt...

A New York Times investigation published Saturday found that starting in September, with only two months to go to before the 2020 presidential election, the Trump campaign allegedly set up weekly recurring donations as the default for online donors.

In before the thread closes, but still. Why do people defend Trump when he is actively scamming people? This wasn't a little mistake once in a blue moon. We're talking multiple mistakes and lies that have serious consequences.

Trump did good and he did bad.

The Democratic party gives us a million reasons to support Trump or any other GOP candidate. Thank the Democrats for that.

What is enough for people to stop supporting him?

He literally tried to fix the election in Georgia so the votes would go to him.

What other proof do his fans need to see his one interest in life is himself. In his world he is the only thing that matters.

At least that never cost anyone any money or got anyone killed, unlike some of Trump's lies.

This funny, and so characteristic. If you are going to fail, you might as well fail bigly.

There are plenty of moral Republican candidates - there was no excuse for supporting corrupt Donald.

Have you not being listening? It speaks for them, it says what is upon their minds. It says what they can not say, it pretends to do what they can not, but wish they could. Many wish it had succeeded in Georgia, had succeeded on the 6th. Many hope the new measures in Georgia will prevent the state from turning Democratic, in spite of the changing demographics.

I know they have already. I know it's the hardest thing to admit to myself that many of them are trapped. But if deprogramming is possible, then shouldn't we try it? Shouldn't we try to help them? I think they need the help most of all.

It seems to me that they saw him as the only path to Republican rule. Saw him as the last great white hope. Like Lindsey Graham. I don't think he likes the Trump all that much, but is enamored by the crowds it incites. Yet they delude themselves, as the Trump crashes and burns.

I agree, but the problem is a tricky one, as it runs into freedom of the press and speech problems. But I think if one keeps pointing out the errors, that eventually some will come around. There are a lot of IT workers who buy into the narratives, but you know, at their fingertips is the very data to set them free, if only they would look, and they know how. They just need a little push.

Not going to lie, I hate the US's freedom of speech laws. They make no sense to me. I worry that our model for freedom of speech failed to prevent radicalization of so many people.

It's impossible to fix a problem one won't acknowledge as existing.

So in the US you're more or less allowed to say whatever but you can't act on it. The idea is that we should have a marketplace of ideas, where better ideas are proposed and bad ideas sink. The thing is, this isn't how it works at all. Small groups keep alive bad ideas like racism because they think they're the best not in a market place, but in their tightly nit social network. With the advent of the internet, this marketplace exploded with ideas. And now we have lots of tightly nit social groups that are sharing similar ideas and thoughts, even if they're divided. So what ends up happening is these groups get radicalized by the limited flow of information. Radicalization leads to extremism, and well that leads to political violence. In a nutshell, because we fail to nip the bad ideas in the bud and outlaw the flow of them, they spread, causing more damage along the way.

Oh, I understand what you mean now. Fringe groups and radicalization happened before the internet connected us to the rest of the world. They will always exists in their underground bunkers and dark web worlds.

For these reasons, I do not believe we should stop anyone's freedom of speech. For one, it's helpful to know where people really stand. This is one reason that I'm opposed to "political correctness" as the person doesn't stop believing hateful thoughts, they usually just become more hateful because they feel they are being censored. Secondly, it is easier to identify people vulnerable to radicalization if they are more open about it as it's building. It can grow faster underground if not interrupted somehow. Lastly, open communication is how we learn about others and hopefully develop a better sense of the world around us. Silencing those voices keeps us separated.

It's not a question of if we should have freedom of speech, but how we should use it. American style is bad. Let's do something like they do in Europe or Canada.

They have more control over what you can say. You can't say racist things in public, or you get fined, that sort of thing.
