Senators Push To End MLB Antitrust Status After League Pulls Georgia All-Star Game

“Why does MLB still have antitrust immunity? It’s time for the federal government to stop granting special privileges to specific, favored corporations - especially those that punish their political opponents,”

Do we really need antitrust immunity for “woke” political hacks that censorship and pressure campaigns to silence opposing viewpoints?

Here is a link to MLB’s corporate sponsors that pressured the league "to pull the All Star game out of Atlanta. Do all of them oppose voter ID? Are all of them willing to be the woke enforcers of the corrupt Democrat Party? Do all hate the 75m who voted for Trump?”

Will the anti-trust protected political hack MLB continue streaming with Tencent, who has strong connections with the Lying Outlaw Slavers of Beijing?

Why are the political hacks in MLB lying about the law that actually expands access to voting, secures ballot drop boxes around the clock in every county, expands weekend voting, protects no-excuse absentee voting, levels the playing field on voter I.D. requirements and streamlines election procedures?

Strip their immunity! No special privileges for the slandering liars!

Even as Major League Baseball continues its attack on Georgia’s requirement to show a valid photo ID to vote, the league has a photo ID requirement of its own for fans picking up tickets at the stadium.

Georgia already has a strict photo id law. Not one of the changes in the recent law changes that one bit. If the law had not changed Georgia would still have that photo id law. Major league baseball is not trying to change that.

Here are some concerns I have about the changes in voter law and I would like to understand why they should be made. Care to address them?

In Georgia and other states Black Christians have long had a tradition of going to worship, going together to vote, and returning to Church for pot luck on Sunday. Georgia and other states plan to end Sunday voting. Is this cancel culture? How does this make for better voting?
Many states are either limiting or doing away with drop boxes put out by local election officials. Since these boxes are locked and at least as secure as a mail box why does this need to be done?
Many states are looking to reduce the number of days or hours for early voting. Since early voting is no different than voting during election day and since it makes it more difficult to vote how does this improve voting?
Georgia has closed many polling places in the last several years. Most of those closed are in areas where minorities vote. Lines have gotten longer especially in Black urban districts. Is this a coincidence? Why do longer lines improve voting?
Since Georgian officials say that the last two elections contained no fraud, were accurate, and that they were proud of those elections why do the same officials find it necessary to make large changes in a system that they themselves say worked well?

I can't, or won't attempt to answer your questions, but in my opinion I think we need one set of laws for all states. Those laws could work for national, state, and local elections. Have the polls stay open for a 48-hour period to vote which would allow for hardships and also Hawaii's time zone, photo ID required to register and to vote, and free rides to the polls from bus stops. Absentee ballots must also be mailed and received within the 48-hour window. Then we would know the totals and results within 48 hours. Make sure all votes could be totaled within that time, even if a thousand counters had to be hired. Other small details could be worked out by those smarter than me. The mishmash of different laws states have plus the weeks of waiting for totals is ridiculous. We are smarter than that. Those who complain about it being too difficult to vote need to set home, shush up, and go along with the results. Why is it when some complains about something today we let the tail wag the dog?

Please. You can't really want federal government to insert itself into this. MLB can conduct its game anywhere it wants. Let the private sector deal with it. I hate politics in sports and I'm just about at the point that I don't watch sports at all any longer.

Reactionary stupidity, but then again we should not expect any more from Ted Cruz and Mike Lee or their ever devolving Party.

A principled stand against the exemption, no. That would wander too far into insurance and agriculture.

Culture war BS built on the shifting sand of disinformation: a rightwing specialty these days.

Boycotts hurt many innocents in many ways. Those who call for boycotts are wanting everyone to side with their opinion. Very selfish.

Usually when laws are changed they people who want to change them give a reason, explain the problem the change will address. That has not happened with some of the things legislatures want to change. If there is a good reason to change aspects of voting law I am willing to listen with an open mind but many of these changes make no sense to me. I think there may be unspoken reasons for some of the changes.
It would be good to have votes tabulated quickly, but accuracy is the most important thing. I agree that at least an outline for how all federal elections are run is a good idea. I do not agree that people who find voting difficult need to go home and shush up.

I find it interesting that some people think that the MLB protesting legislation is censorship, but the government trying to remove the MLB's antitrust status for protesting legislation is not censorship

Does that include the calls to boycott Coke, Delta, UPS, and the MLB?

In general voting is not difficult for anyone determined to vote. If you find voting difficult you got a lot of larger problems in your life. I have to believe half the people complaining about voter ID cards vote all elections and have the ID's. The other half who complain don't care to vote, they just like to complain.

Removing anti-trust immunity would be the Federal Government un-inserting itself. When you are going to slander folks that are giving you special favors, are you going to also be surprised when they remove the special favors?

Why in the hell would we give these "woke" slandering lying clowns a special favor? Fk 'em. I've had it with all the lying and slandering that attacks voter integrity in order to preserve the ability steal elections. Lower the boom!

Agreed. Anyone planning on boycotting baseball is just as guilty of inserting politics as the leagues are. Additionally, if MLB didn't cancel Atlanta, just as many if not more people would see that as political.

Face it, and it's nothing new. Big business flexes its power. Deal.

I can't argue that. But it isn't the federal government's fight just like it isn't MLB's fight. The fight would be between the legislature and the voters and there doesn't seem to be a fight there at all. It is all about outsiders shuffling around for power.

Election laws are made by state legislatures not by companies located there or doing business there. All of those CEO's should be fired for potentially hurting their companies by dragging them into the political sewer. Inexcusable executive behavior.

It's MLB's fight now. Did you see their slanderous claims about these perfectly reasonable reforms? Have they retracted them? It's ON!

Sen. Rubio Hammers Hypocrite Lying Slandering Race-Baiting Scum MLB Commish, Asks: Will You Give Up Augusta Golf Club Membership?
“As you are well aware, the exclusive members-only club is located in the State of Georgia...”

Rubio called out scum race-baiting Manfred for hypocrisy regarding its business in authoritarian and Slaver countries.

The pushback against securing our elections is intended to preserve the ability to steal our elections, The GA reforms will make it more difficult to cheat and for that cheating to go undetected.
The pro-election fraud MLB should not have ANY special anti-competitiveness measures provided by government.
I don't give a damn what their claimed motivations are. Why do they deserve special breaks from Congress that few other businesses get?
    Who claims otherwise?
Agreed, and shareholders should be able to file suit against them for damages. They are in the business of baseball, not "woke" politics
