Everyone, on both sides of the debate, knew it was true. You just don't typically get the kind of honesty we got from Duncan, which is a surprising admission about the genesis of the voter suppression law GA Repubs passed. And he did so while starring in to the camera. (CNN)A top Georgia Republican said Wednesday that Rudy Giuliani's false claims of election fraud -- which were presented before state lawmakers -- created momentum for a package of voting rights restrictions that recently became state law. "This is really the fallout from the 10 weeks of misinformation that flew in from former President Donald Trump," Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan said on CNN's "New Day." "I went back over the weekend to really look at where this really started to gain momentum in the legislature, and it was when Rudy Giuliani showed up in a couple of committee rooms and spent hours spreading misinformation and sowing doubt across, you know, hours of testimony." https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/07/politics/geoff-duncan-voter-fraud-cnntv/index.html A refreshing aspect of what Duncan owned up to is it can't be dismissed by the usual means of denying reality employed by Trump devotees. Claims blaming fake news and the deep state won't work this time. They can't cover their eyes and plug their ears while ignoring the comments because unnamed sources were used. He's on tape. Will Duncan's confession bring about an acknowledgement by Trump fans that the new law was not in reaction to actual voter fraud but rather a reaction to electoral victories by Biden, Ossoff, and Warnock? That the crux of the bill addresses the "problem" that Dems won elections fairly? I suspect not. While Joe Manchin engages in a naive, self-serving crusade to save the principles of democracy in the Senate by refusing to squash the filibuster, nationwide Repubs strive to subvert the right to vote given to every qualified American citizen. Dems need to stop bringing a knife to a gun fight. They need to meet Repub's ruthless, relentless power grabs with equal force. Or be prepared for defeat.
If we had an honest media they would find a person in Georgia who was not registered to vote and walk them through the process and do a full report. Then everyone would see the truth -- what ever the truth is. But don't expect the truth from the media who is acting as a shill for the democrats and the race baiters.
Hey, maybe Manchin is tired of swilling DNC Kool-Aid after all these years and might switch parties if the Repubs were to sweeten the pot a bit, giving them the Senate....would that suit your ideological purity better? LOL
That's a curious response to a high ranking GA Repub admitting the new law was motivated by lies about election fraud. If GA Repubs really wanted to achieve the goals they claim they were aiming for they could have adopted reforms along the lines of secure elections with high voter participation. They could have modeled themselves after CO. But the goal they wanted to achieve is voter suppression.
I don't seek ideological purity. I seek realism. I seek recognition that Repubs actions show they will stop at nothing to retain or regain power. Even if it means subverting the will of the voters by putting control of an election in the hands of the Repub controlled state legislature.
"Those machines are like Swiss cheese. You can invade them. You can get in them. You can change the vote," Giuliani incorrectly told state legislators on December 30. That lie was rewarded with a defamation suit. https://apnews.com/article/dominion-voting-sues-rudy-giuliani-e104c6bde1c51bb5f614760a7bfc0c45
So you're saying conservative media sites are also acting as shills for the democrats and the race baiters? Interesting take
So you liked his opinion and, hence, think of him as a hero. If you didn't like his opinion he would be Trumpster like everybody else? Pure partisanship.

That's not an opinion. It's a factual observation.
