I'm against all bans by government without a law. Governments should provide information and advice. It should never intrude into peoples' private lives like they have for the past year. If they want to become authoritarian then they need to pass a law and then face the consequences of passing it. It is the democratic way.

Pass a law specifically via the legislature?

That is how laws are passed in Canada.

So you are totally against ANY Executive Order, even in emergency situations?

Where did that idea come from? Executive orders, at least in the U.S. should be orders to the government and for the government. When you give executive orders to the public, that is authoritarianism. The government can and should provide information and advice to the public but should never attempt to get involved in the private lives of citizens without a law. That is my opinion.

I believe that is true. The governors relied on "emergency powers" which are normally covered by state laws but are normally intended for emergencies. If polio and small pox weren't emergencies, then neither is Covid. People can tell the difference.

So US citizens have been able to travel freely to China since March last year?

If you say so I am simply saying there is no law against it.

Well there is, it just didn't pass through the legislature. By that definition, there is no law permitting abortion.

Were polio and small pox as transmissible as coronavirus?

I don't know. Small pox could well have been. Nevertheless they were many times more dangerous.

    You don't get it.

    It is very simple.

It is legal because there is no law against it.

You really need to read up about abortion political/legal issues in US because you clearly do not know anything about it.

Well it doesn't matter how many more times dangerous they are if they are equally as many more times less transmissible.

Of course it matters. Would you rather contract covid or polio?
