I did. That’s why I think families that have 4-7 kids should have child supported by government programs to improve their lives. Wasn’t that long ago most people had 4-7 kids.

When it comes to highways, there is a pretty well established 1 for 1 induced demand problem. Build 20% more roads and traffic increases by 20% in short order. We cannot build our way out of congestion. As you noted, more highways will mean more white flight or "urban sprawl" as democrats prefer to call it.

Anyway, in this particular case, it is fairly arguable that there is a racial component to part of it. The flooding problems they experience are because they built so many upper middle class homes in the area that flood waters used to be directed toward so now they want to level parts of this black community to mitigate the flood problems the new construction caused in connection with the highway expansion.

I don't know what is the right solution right now today for the situation. I just know piss poor urban planning in the not so distant past created this mess. They should have known better.
