Mike Lindell's 'free speech' social media site bans swearing, porn and taking God's name in vain

There may be a point if certain people were silenced based on their point of view rather than their conduct.

I had no idea Jefferson, Madison and Hamilton et al sat around discussing the C and F words..... Oh to have been a fly on the wall of those discussions...

Also, there are generally 2 pretty offensive C words I'm aware of... I'd really like the Mein Pillow Guy to describe which one he's thinking about...

So he's not going to allow porn or obscene and foul language. Why is that a problem? Does that really limit your freedom?

 

How do you suppose he's going to stop it?? Translate it to **** like PF.com does, or a lifetime ban?? What if I use asterisks myself to hide my intent, like calling Mike Lindell a d*uchebag? You think he'll be able to interpret that??

Hell, I may sign up just to find out what the penalties are.. as long as the grifters aren't asking for a signup fee, which I wouldn't discount...

I'd love to be the first person getting a lifetime ban to CRANK...

 

I don't particularly care for Mike Lindell but I see nothing wrong with having some decency standards for the discourse on his site. From what I gather, he's not censoring thoughts, just words, and in the case of porn, images or videos.

I don't see anything wrong with that. This site functions just fine without swearing, and would continue to even if we couldn't slip the occasional word through.

I think the guy is pretty much the world's best sycophant or just a nutcase or both, and yet I can't say I have any objections to his standards for the most part and I also do not believe he is censoring free speech. Every idea that can be described with swearing, blaspheming, and skinflicking can be communicated just fine without doing any of those things. Speech is not stifled.

Sounds like Putin's idea of free speech. All that's missing is banning criticism of the president, but of course we can't have that until Trump or a suitable replacement is installed in office for life.

 

Isn’t limiting mine as I have no desire to be on MyCultPillow.com. Private companies censoring whatever they want isn’t limiting any freedom I have. Just like Twitter and Facebook banning conservatives doesn’t limit their voices either.

It is ironic to say it is a free speech forum and then ban specific language that you don’t like, especially speech that goes against your religious preferences.

But hey, without hypocrisy all he would have are uncomfortable pillows and a heroin addiction.

 

I hope Tik Tok kids jump on there... they know swear words Lindell wouldn't even recognize....

As long as the goal is to make this effort a failure, and not an attempt to fundraise for Mein Pillow to pay for lawsuit defense...

It doesn't appear to have any age restrictions, so restricting swearing and porn are likely regulatory requirements. I do agree that restricting 'taking God's name in vain' is contrary to their aims.

 

Maybe he means free opinion platform, not a free expression platform.

You can state any opinions and have any views you want, as long as you don't express yourself in an 'in-appropriate' way.

It's not free speech though.
