How are unarmed traffic police supposed to deal with people who pull out a gun and shoot at them?

Out of approximately 20,500,000 interactions with the public. Which means that an unarmed person did not get shot 99.9989% of the time. How much closer to 100% do you expect them to be?

The same way unarmed citizens have to deal with it.
Unarmed police should should wear multiple cameras avoid confrontations and not make arrests. There is seldom any urgent need to arrest most offenders.

And what would you think is the common denominator between every shooting. Non compliance. Pretty simple.

Almost all Americans do that everyday.
Unarmed police should not resemble armed police.

WOW, you expect everyone to be perfect EXCEPT the criminals. Awesome, good luck with that.

Almost all Americans aren't making felony arrest and serving warrants on criminals.

I beg to differ. If we just let people with arrest warrants show up for court when they wanted, they'd never show. That's why they have to look for them constantly. There is a really good reason why offences result in an arrest or there'd be chaos.

Citizens deal with it by being armed and shooting back.

Not if the shooting is justified.

Being unarmed doesn't mean the person is not posing a lethal threat. Michael Brown and Trayvon Martin are good examples of this.

    He's dead.....like so many others.
The way you suggested? Yes For the same reasons the voting laws are unjust.
Unknown...there might not even been a problem if he was white.
If he was white? They would have ticketed him for tags and said "Have a nice day!!"
Yeah, he did all those things on purpose!!

You think he resisted arrest? You think his "plan" was to drive away? It's painfully obvious that you have no idea what he was doing, only that your conclusions fit your narrative.

Why didn't he get out of the car? Oh yeah, he was sure if he moved his hands they would shoot him. It's no win for people of color. As for the taze.....it was his lucky day!!

Do white people not die now?
    That proves nothing

They lose not rights by being required to register their vehicles. I can understand wanting people to be given warnings only due to COVID-19 but saying they shouldn’t even be stopped is absurd.

    So assumption

Strange, when I got pulled of due to a tag issue they ran my ID. How do you think tickets are issued exactly?

The tags might have slipped his mind sure, aggravated assault though...
    Resisting arrest...
    Becoming physical with police...
Attempting to take control of a vehicle...

Yes, he did those things on purpose

Ok, now put those percentages to the number of police killed. Now, what's your point?

First..you don't HAVE to comply with the police. Take the LT. He asked a simple question of why he was stopped. Police didn't answer......they rarely do in these cases. As far as non compliance. The police will simply make **** up to get that conclusion.

Right, so the thousands who have been killed in just unarmed confrontations with police with no charges pending against the officers thought the very same thing.
Let us know how it works out for ya.

Well I watched him resist arrest then get in the front seat of the car to drive away. What do you think he was doing?

STOP!! You know very well how disproportionate it is. Don't be disingenuous
I don't know what you're talking about on this one. I never said people shouldn't be stopped.
Correct, just as your answers are.
    I'll give you this one
    I disagree

He doesn’t have the right to unarrest himself. The police can tell him why he was stopped when they’re ready, it’s not up to him to make that call.
