I have no doubt they would and McConnell and the Republicans should go on record stating they would do exactly that.

I would love to be a fly on the wall behind the closed doors of the SCOTUS and listen to what they have to say and wonder if they will issue a formal statement.

But in no way necessarily so - some blue states have such a high vote surplus that it is possible for 4-5 of them to produce a blue "Senate majority vote" with 90 red senate seats.

And -no one- voted in an election all across the country... because all elections are state election - no one in Maine voted in the same election as anyone from any other state.

Of course, that was never my point.

The point was that there is not near enough support for the Repub party nation wide for their to be a super majority of states that would approve an Amendment let alone give them one in Congress.

In my own personal opinion the GOP is in trouble and needs to find a way to appeal to a wider base of people. Texas is edging closer to going blue for POTUS and if that ever happens there is almost zero chance of a Repub president.
