Everyone will be able to safely move anywhere they like as soon as constitutional carry is the rule everywhere.

That’s the bottom line. I have the best of both worlds, a small city with only one other metro area in 150 miles in any direction.

Police have on average killed about 1,000 people per year for the last 7 years. LINK: Police Shootings and Crime Statistics in The United States (killedbypolice.net) Out of literally 10's of millions of police contacts per year. LINK: Contacts Between Police and the Public, 2018 – Statistical Tables (bjs.gov) (61.5 million in 2018 )The vast majority of police shootings are justified.

Get some perspective. These are the things that the media is NOT reporting on.

A strange phenomenon is occurring as urban city real estate sales are and have been increasing in value well ahead of suburban and rural real estate???

I agree. Des Moines is a well managed city.

Iowa was rated the #1 state in the country and for good reason.

Progressives (as I know and observe them), are almost exclusively middle class or above white people, who've adopted Leftism in the past couple of decades as a sort of quasi-religion/style note. Many actually decamped from the Right, which is not altogether surprising since Progressives are arch capitalists. They're also loud, ideology-plagued, bored, petty, and a whole host of other unpleasant things. They're supercilious, and take everything - including themselves - very seriously. They're like a cabal of elderly maiden aunts with Victorian sensibilities and a Protestant terror of naughty things.

Unlike poncing low T urbanites - living in their foul little boxes surrounded by strangers who don't give a ****.

*Their idea of art is limited to that which arises only from privilege and status (art for art's sake). They don't have the depth of soul or worldiness from which arises appreciation of the art in utility. They lack the faculties to find the art in a colouring book. They can only see art when it hammers them over the head, and when the hammerer is clearly marked 'artist'. The can't see art in home made music, or a beautifully laid Xmas table, or the joyful embelishments added to a thatched roof, or the way dust above a plough shimmers in the late afternoon light.

*Their idea of theatre is limited to the commercial institution known as Theatre. They cannot see theatre outside that insanely narrow and culturally limited context. They can't see it in a religious ritual, or a large family gathering, or doing donuts in the pickup while your pals hype you from the top rail of the fence. They're like socially arrested children, who can only recognise one variant of a thing, and even then only when it's shown to them and clearly named.

*Their idea of sport is limited, like theatre and art, to a very narrow range of structured (and usually paid for) activities. They don't have enough adventure in their hearts to enjoy a can shootout, or a long hike up a challenging mountain, or the feeling of riding a horse at full gallop while mustering, or cooking over an open fire, or sleeping in a hammock under the stars, etc etc etc.

*A city life, trapped in a box you don't even own, surrounded by strangers who don't give a ****, and incapable of doing anything which isn't manufactured, culturally limited, paid for, and clearly labelled 'art' or 'theatre' or 'sport' is probably good for people so unevolved that they don't even realise what a tiny fraction of life they're living.

Most big city progressive Californians would never consider moving to a rural part of this state. They do visit as tourists though.

Poor Lovies can't cope without their spoon-fed manufactured entertainments, and the crowds of strangers they depend on to somehow fill a tiny corner of that gaping maw left by a life disconnected from nature and community.

And it's that perception that actually provides those who live in rural areas the protection from the unfortunate people who think it.

    Talk about a limited horizon.

City streets that provide a wonderful view of concrete and bricks, the lone pigeon, screeching brakes, gunfire in the background, wafting scents from the nearby sewer grate. That would be a stereotypical description of a city, eh? But we know it's not the same for all cities. Why can't you consider the idea that 'rural areas' are not stereotypical either?

This is quite a hardy defense of the our countries less developed. Whimsical and farcical, as one must be to explain without disdain.
I especially like the imagery of "Jethro" in his competitive hike, sleeping under the stars and cooking on an open fire, as his Neanderthal ancestor did, without even a bed to rest his weary bones. Just a hammock to recoil in.
That this grim scene is romanticized to ignore the lack of evolution that they show is wholly understandable but their failures are understood. The sadness of this subset is felt by all, no need for confessions.

In our generosity we will be bringing broad band internet to these deprived creatures. It's a start. Sadly, I doubt so much as a thank you will be heard. Still, it will help to raise them up.

Yes, I have read many a study which links gun ownership to a false sense of masculinity.
Be happy in delusion, I say to them, for it is all they have.
    Peace

Yes, I am sure the women who are now on equal footing with the low lifes that could prey upon them, see their masculinity restored.

The extreme lack of understanding in regards to the ability to defend one's self is highlighted by those who think that a tool is a representation of one's gender, still can make me shake my head.

Women are being preyed on are they? LOL

I find the screams for validation from the less evolved amusing but at the same time sad.

Yes, it is rare people understand themselves. The self image of the fear filled "rifleman" is replaced by a false construct which sooths the ego and hides the truth from those they protect most ardently, their own id.
We understand this. I am speaking on a higher plane.

Do tell, if a would be criminal has intent, do they go for someone that can defend themselves, or those who would normally be overwhelmed by size and muscle?

Good lord, go for something other than the adult version of kindergarten rubber-glue. It belies your attempt at haughtiness.

Since you are not willing to actually construct a discussion, and believe ill-concealed attempts at insults are actually intelligent discourse, you have yourself a lovely day.

Thanks you for your well wishes for the day.

If you even resource the ability to have a resoned conversation about the slaughter we all live with because of the Neanderthal supported agenda of gun nuts, let me know.

    In the meantime,
as Sarah Plain, the patron saint of the right would say, "Bang, Bang, gotcha!"

Our experience is the complete opposite of the right wing positions in this post. The rural less populated red states have by far the most gun deaths per capita and by far the most violent crimes per capita. FACTS DO NOT LIE, AND THESE FACTS ARE EASILY VERIFIABLE ON THE INTERNET

No running water so they have an outhouse. How safe can that be?

I would think that there could be a health issue involving outhouses.
