Nevertheless, Open Borders Donnie and his ilk are a major reason for the undocumented workers being in this country: EMPLOYMENT. It is time to end sanctuary cities for lawbreaking employers like Crooked Donnie and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

I know your post is about attacking Pres Trump but just FYI the intent to increase punishment on employers who hire illegals or don't verify work status has been proposed a number of times always to be shut down by Democrats. Also the current main reason for illegal immigration is no longer jobs. As evidenced by promises of free **** upon free **** upon free **** and the guarantee of countless US cities that they wont be ejected, the new primary draw of illegal immigration is progressive policy.

 

"Just another white guy". That could well become the very basis of a political campaign.

 

I'm a hard core democrat, and I have no problem with e-verify even though I find it a little toothless (basically pretty much only companies that get contracts with the government use it). E-verify has been in use in Florida since 2011.
What Desantis is doing here is using government money to pay for free advertising for a future presidential campaign.
Pretty gross if you ask me.

 

You're right that its not a total mandate for all employers to use e-verify. But it does go a bit further than the 2011 e-verify bill.

I think that they only way that we're ever going to get a complete 100% e-verify system is if we get campaign donations out of politics. And the only way to do that is to completely ban it while instituting a system that gives money from the government itself to the campaigner. But even that isn't going to be perfect because private entities can advertise/lobby on behalf of their chosen politician. And that you can't stop near as easy. What might help there is to bar a politician from associating with anyone/group that put forth advertising money for their campaigns for a period of 5-10 years after they leave office (if they get elected) and absolutely NO contact with them while in office. Not even allowing third party type of contact. But I'm not sure how that would stand up in court constitutionally speaking.

 

When will people realize NEITHER party has any interest whatsoever in "solving" our Southern border issues? Remember, a problem solved is one that no longer generates votes or campaign contributions.

There is no need to increase punishment on employers who hire illegals, we just need to actually punish those that do so. Having harsher punishments is meaningless when we do not even enforce the ones that we have now

I cannot disagree. I would say it has been "wrong" because neither party has any real interest in fixing it. as was stated above, a fixed problem does not generate votes or contributions.

 

More accurately, neither party has had interest in fixing it at the same time. A few decades ago Democrats were strongly against illegal immigration because the unions that hold such sway over the DNC were being hurt (still are) but Republicans supported illegal immigration because the labor economy sector that held sway over them wanted cheap labor. In current times Republicans are strongly against illegal immigration because our economy has shifted away from labor and there is no longer an abundance of low/no-skill jobs for illegals but now Democrats support illegal immigration because it gives them a massive boost to their voting blocks both in terms of social issues for today's voters and generational immigrant breeding of tomorrow's voters.

 

I agree, competent governance is almost non existent across the planet, including Tallahassee.

That said, in this time of Operation Covid and universal deception, DeSantis has been very good regarding liberty.

 

Free, Free, Free stuff in this country mainly goes to the corporate welfare state. Employment is the draw for undocumented workers to come to this country, and public assistance to undocumented workers is limited to emergency Medicaid, emergency room treatment and health care programs under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. I am not aware of any Democratic agenda, or as hate-America-first bigots would write, Democrat agenda, to oppose the prosecution of lawbreaking employers such as Open Borders Donnie.

 

And yet all these damn liberals want to move here...
