Anyone else notice that Chauvin is letting his hair grow out to try to look less like a skinhead?

No, they didn't effectively dispute the prosecution testimony. Chauvin won't get an acquittal and we'll see a second trial if there isn't a conviction.

The defense put on a lame case. I'm shocked at how bad it was.

It is most certainly logical to pay attention to his medical conditions during an event. To say otherwise is hilariously ignorant of health and medicine. The fact that the home invasion enthusiast was carrying on about not breathing before the police officer even laid a hand on him tells us a lot about what we need to know. He was undergoing cardiac arrest while fighting the cops, which you'd know if you even watched the video one time.

It stays on the jaw line by the neck. Did you certify on this one, because I certainly did. The coroners report mentions NO trauma to the neck area, I must presume you noticed that?

I'll take growing up lessons from people who don't spend all day virtue signaling. Also, once again you don't understand the difference between homicide as noted in an autopsy and homicide as a term in a court case! Just go read up on it.

That's cool. I know what the law is, and I know what happens when justice is sold to the nearest bully mob and not about the truth.

He was a threat until he passed out. There was no reason to move him until EMS arrived. I would not have put a passed out meth head in my car without restraints. Personally I'd have moved off him and used a shoulder restraint (kimura) but that wasn't my arrest.
Narcotics abusers are a funny bunch in that they're pretty unpredictable. They wake up and go ape****, sometimes appear drowsy, it's a mixed bag. What I'd have been worried about his people charging up at them to intervene and fight the officers.

I'm not really shocked. The evidence and the prosecution's expert witness testimony was overwhelming. What I am shocked about is that the defense actually found an expert witness who testified that Chauvin's actions were appropriate and another who testified that Floyd actually died from anything and everything except Chauvin's knee. It was pretty lame testimony from those expert witnesses and the prosecution was successfully able to poke all sorts of holes into that testimony. Furthermore, they could not credibly contradict the evidence and the prosecution's expert witness testimony. When someone commits a murder and it's captured on multiple videos, it's really difficult to put up a legitimate defense so all the defense can do is to try to raise doubt in order to get a hung jury.

I thought they should have put on more experts to buoy the testimony and perhaps used two attorneys but then I don't know if Chauvin himself is having to pay for it all. Did they present enough reasonable doubt or better yet did the prosecution present a case BEYOND a reasonable doubt that but for Chauvin's knee.......................unless they come up with some narrative in their closing arguments I would have a hard time coming to that conclusion. It's not a maybe, or a seems like, or I just want to convict him because that one video looks so bad thing.

Reasonable doubt.............remember the defense does not have to disprove or prove innocence. Did the prosecution present a with a doubt indisputable case.............I don't think so and the defense as shoddy as it was got in those reasonable doubts, even the prosecution witnesses could not agree on key points.

That's exactly what I was thinking when Chauvin murdered Floyd while more than a dozen eyewitnesses watched.

I dunno. I think the defense should have worked harder at casting doubt. A few more witnesses, perhaps.

Maybe. He's screwed if he has to pay considering he would undoubtedly be tried again unless he's acquitted.

I take it you mean expert witnesses like I said I'm surprised the defense was able to dig up the 2 that they did. Coming up with even more would be an incredible feat.

There's zero chance he will be acquitted. The best he can hope for is a hung jury.

The sad thing is, that even when being forced to admit struggling to breathe is not resisting, the reality is that police see movement as resisting. Until it is written down in big bold letters “trying to breathe isn’t resisting”, more blacks will die like this.

    The cycle:

Struggle to breathe, more pressure applied for resisting, causing to struggle harder, even more pressure applied to make you compliant. You die. You are now compliant.

Thank you. So you agree with what has been my contention, all along: after Floyd lost consciousness, there was no longer any need for Chauvin to keep his knee on Floyd's neck, or to keep him in the prone position.

But, again, this concern is, in no way, addressed by the knee on Mr. Floyd's neck, or keeping someone, who was potentially in medical distress (hence the EMS), and who had complained of an inability to breathe, in the PRONE position, which is known to restrict breathing.
    Your man f'd up.

I think there are more than a few doctors who would be happy to promote themselves.

    GOP Doctors Caucus

    You trust these folks?

Chauvin's defense has let stand that he acted against department policy, procedures, and police department training. The defense could argue the policies were unclear, or perhaps there were exigent circumstances that impacted this particular situation. Geez, they could have argued something or found a way to make him look sympathetic to someone like Floyd whose addiction led him into petty criminality.

If Chauvin gets a hung jury he'll be very lucky. Then we'll do it again.
