The people who wiped out most of the Native American population and went on to import humans from Africa to be treated as property, beaten and killed (those who didn't die during the voyage across the ocean) following a long, proud history of massacring each other over religious and territorial disputes are the most wonderful people on earth and have brought only joy and happiness to the world.

The Jews didn't have clean hands in the Ottoman Empire either. They did much of the Ottoman dirty work, which makes me wonder if the pogroms in Europe might have been a reaction to what they were doing under the Ottomans? :confuse:

This is one of my early favorites... Putin at GRU headquarters.

Can you guess who the man is in the blue suit?

I chose that because it relates to "Crazy Ivan"

I assume you know what that is??

I was hoping Putin would one day do a Crazy Ivan ... like Saul to Paul :)

A few seconds on Google looking up "Atossa Ivanova" and wallah. No big deal.

    Of course!

Still haven't addressed the points I raised - and at this juncture I doubt you ever will.
Your also assuming also that anyone who disagrees with you on any particular issue in this thread is uneducated on the subject. How convenient for you.

To repeat, I have no particular take on the Donestk/Luhansk/Crimea border dispute that would add value to the debate in any significant fashion. Like all such disputes they involve long standing historical, economic & cultural issues that are always hard to resolve. So until such time as I feel I do have something of value to add? No comment.

I do on the other had have something to have something to add when someone (in this case you) starts pontificating about how superior Russia's convention forces are to those of the US and could easily destroy them in combat - without producing any facts to back up their claims. On that issue I think I can contribute.

So here are some facts for you (figures approximate):

    Total Fleet Tonnage (tons):
    United States of America: 3,415,893 Russia: 1 281 900

    Total military aircraft (all types):
United States of America: 12,403 Russia: 4,441

    Active Service Personnel:
United States of America: 845,730 Russia; 771 000

So now, to repeat the points you refuse to address even though you are the one claiming Russian Forces would rollover American forces in a conventional war. The fact is American has far superior throw weight in such a war, absent the use of nuclear weapons (such as in the proposed conflict involving a hypothetical invasion by Russia of Ukraine) AND given time, with the assistance of NATO.

America can bring far more conventional military forces to bare than Russia can. Those forces are (in general) better equipped, have a degree technological superiority in many (but certainly not all) areas like stealth etc and better logistics/lift/transport capacity. In such a war Russia would face real problems.

But as I explained and you have refused to acknowledge repeatedly there is no pressing reason for American to place large numbers of troops on the ground in the Ukraine while Ukraine itself has armed forces of its own. Air support and logistical support would suffice to make the invasion 'unwise/costly'.

It also follows also that America would have no interest in or desire to invade Russia or assist Ukraine in expanding its borders. This is because the US/NATO could not sustain a prolonged conventional conflict with Russia anymore than Russia could sustain one with the US. Neither side could afford the economic/political/social costs of such a war. It would be a disaster for everyone. Its aim would almost certainly be to reset the borders back to the status quo i.e. where they are now and then resolve the existing border disputes via negotiation.

Now you can dream on about how 'victorious' the Russian army would be but that all it would be, a dream - if the US became involved. Casualties would be heavy on both sides but Russia would lose.

Oh, it's the same blah-blah-talks like "we can beat Russia but just don't want".
We can defeat Taliban, but... but... you know. :D

Still no facts in your posts I see. You should try them sometimes - it would be refreshing for the rest of us. And if you had read my post properly (you can read English can't you?), you would have seen that I specifically said the US & its NATO allies could assist Ukraine to defeat a Russian invasion. I did not say the US would 'win' if it attempted to invade/attack Russia. The two entirely are different concepts. In fact I pointed out that neither side would 'win' such a war and that it should be avoided at all costs even if nuclear weapons weren't on the table.
