    What I don't get about this "controversy" is that gay and lesbian people were treated as respectfully as anyone else in my redneck southern town, since at least as early as the 60's. And there is anecdotal evidence that homosexuality was tolerated in the entire history of the South. Three overtly gay and two lesbian couples I can think of off hand had their own thriving businesses. The blue haired rich ladies who loved them and really ran the town would not have tolerated any official discrimination. Sure, there were bored thugs from the woods who probably gave them a hard time as kids, but that's not state sanctioned bigotry; certainly there was no institionalized, systemic discrimination going on. There were no sermons about it one way or the other in church, either. What passes as "trans" today didn't openly exist, and that probably would have been asking for trouble, but LGBTQBLTXYZ? Nobody in authority gave a fecal material one way or the other.

    Who is not getting hired or denied a marriage license today?

    High Ranking Pols like Pelosi and now Biden.
    That Parish Priest have a very important role in
    explaining to their flock { members of the parish } about
    the Catholic Church Doctrine concerning Abortion.It's a sin.
    In many cases a grave mortal sin.Priests have a responsibility
    to maintain Church Doctrine.If a Parishoner decides to
    become a Pornographer like - Penthouse - magazine founder
    Bob Guccione ... then there MUST be consequences.
    I don't think Guccione ever lauded,and advertised for Abortion.
