Large majorities in new poll want tighter voting rules after 2020 election controversies https://justthenews.com/politics-po...nt-see-one-day-election-results-voter-id-hard A full 70% of voters, for instance, would like a hard Election Day deadline for mail-in ballots, indicating broad opposition to the post-election deadlines that many jurisdictions put in place for the Nov. 3 election. A whopping 76% favor requiring photo ID to vote. White House and Democratic Party messaging has sought to paint ID requirements as Republican "voter suppression" tactics. Rasmussen found that 65% of voters "believe government agencies should be required to report the vote totals from all ballots either on Election Night or the next day." In many cases in 2020, reporting totals in cities and states around the U.S. dragged out for several days after the election. Just 18% of voters were opposed to such a requirement. Nearly 60% of voters, meanwhile, want a ban on the practice of "ballot harvesting," in which workers collect absentee ballots from voters and drop them off at a central location. This isn't terribly surprising. Most people aren't die hard radical liberals who are cool with chaotic, poorly run, "everything goes" elections like we saw in many areas in 2020.
Polls with similar numbers have been coming out for the last few weeks. All of a sudden Democrats who openly stated they were against voter ID are now denying they said it and are in favor of them, that blimp in Georgia is one of them. Before the week is up, I’ll bet Psaki and CNN say it was Republicans who were always against voter IDs. It’s either that or they’ll say 70% of Americans are racist.
Nor are most people die-hard conservatives. To me we just need to have common sense. I support ID's. We should just make driver's licenses perpetually valid once you turn 65 for ID purposes for the very elderly who sometimes have no ID once they stop driving, and let high school/college ID's count for those newby 18 year olds. All mail in ballots should be postmarked by election day to count and the post offices need to be required to postmark ballots mailed on election day.
Large majorities in new poll want tighter voting rules after 2020 election controversies Too bad. The democrats are in power and they want the opposite.
I want our voting computerized to take all the people involved completely out of the picture. Vote from home via cell phone or computer to a main frame computer with one program with 50 regions one for each state so that each state can have their own unique sign on and security and running voter counts for each candidate running in addition to being added to grand totals for each candidate as well as any ballot initiatives for each particular state. As soon as the last state closes its polls the winners can be announced with ZERO PEOPLE INVOLVEMENT. Right now we still vote like they did in the 1900's it is antiquatted and rife with people interventions. GET THE PEOPLe OUT OF IT , PAY NO MORE POLL WORKERS.
This, 100% Make it secure, make is accessible Let the people have their voices be heard Then ban gerrymandering and fptp
Large majorities in new poll want tighter voting rules after 2020 election controversies But the Democrats do not, and they are in the driver's seat.
I’ve thought about this and think that it would be tough to secure. I actually think you might want two or more companies involved so that your vote could be registered with two or three separate entities. That way you have competing interests tallying their own vote count. If they don’t match exactly, you have a problem. That sort of thing. How you’d make sure the proper people were voting is another issue.
How can a country that lauds ITSELF AS THE WORLDS GREATEST DEMOCRACY put roadblocks of any form into the voting process to minimize the number allowed to cast their ballots. All of these measures by right wing states are purely anti democratic more akin to fascism or communism..
Because we want to be the worlds greatest democracy, not the worlds greatest rigged democracy? You are on the wrong side of common sense. Plenty of corrupt democracies with corrupt voting processes out there in the world, I’m sure you’ll feel right at home joining one of them.
Polls that show what one thinks is true are always accepted, those that do not are always called fake. This thread is a good example of this
