We have always been divided Edna. I think we had a short window when Clinton was elected that things were changing but that ended when Barack became President. Many were not happy that America not only elected a multiracial President but that more wasn't being done to punish America for it's racist past. With Hillary's loss it was like a slap in the face to woman and a threat to the radical social agendas of the left. The media and the social internet hated Trump and any other conservative so much that they demonized all who stood in their path. Even with the election of Biden and Harris they are not satisfied with just a victory but now want a complete destruction of the right. I'm afraid the last great compromise in government was with Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich. It's been hardball ever since. All I have said here is just in my own opinion.

This hasn't much to do with facebook....but Your guy does not seem to understand what is right and left are subjective evaluations dependent on current opinion. He notes conservative attitudes towards LGBTs have gone left....well not really. They are still well behind liberals. but take the case of equal rights for the races. Conservatives fought against equal rights for the races, but now all sane conservatives, even ultra conservatives, believe all races should have equal rights. Does that make them less conservative? He says foreign policy of righties have gone left....well not really. He uses a survey before and after the financial crisis. The entire nation turned inward and they didn't go anymore left on their resistance to giving foreign aid. His cherry picked examples and dismissing studies do not prove his case. The right has embraced rather than denounced nationalism, white supremacy. They have tried to overturn the democratic process and their anti-democratic bent has played out in state legislatures with suppression of voting rights by supposedly trying to keep balloting safe from fraud, which was a nonexistent problem. Thanks for the tip. I can agree with some. Denouncing Nationalism and White Supremacy only became popular a few decades ago. They used to be radically leftist positions. You never heard and Democrat poll bemoaning White Privilege until a few years ago. Now it is all the rage.

I must be evil also as he is the one person in the Republican party that I was sad to see screw up with his personal life. He was my choice to be President until that came along. About the only things that the Right does is support one (ONE) very popular TV network, Fox -- both news, and, for business, and one less visible network, Newsmax. The Left has a wide variety of propaganda organs at its disposal, including MSNBC, CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC -- and Bloomberg, which has a large following because of its business world coverage (which is actually quite good). Aside from that, there are many right-wing AM radio talk shows (juxtaposed against almost no left-wing AM radio talk shows anywhere)! The Left has its voice (such as it is) on the overpoweringly liberal NPR (publicly-funded National Public Radio) radio, which is more often found on FM radio. Still, not very many Americans listen to any of the radio talk shows anymore, and, meanwhile, the hyperliberal Left rules the internet space occupied by Facebook and Twitter. Disclaimer -- I wouldn't touch Facebook again with a twenty-foot pole (played with it for about a month once, eleven years ago ). I have a Twitter account that I never use... probably ought to ditch it, too. I guess I like my propaganda with greater depth, and less low-brow, impromptu bullshit....
