Check any source you want and you will find that---------------world wide man made CO2 amounts to approx 40 Billion tons per year. The total weight of the earths atmosphere is 5.5 quadrillion tons. Divide 40 billion by 5.5 quadrillion, and you come up with 7 parts in a million. Is a dinky 7 part in a million worth throwing millions out of good paying jobs, ruining the economy, and setting our standard of living back 100 years???? I THINK NOT. If indeed there is global warming, real scientist would look else where.
Fossil fuels are a limited resource. Coal has been on the way out for years. Oil causes wars. No charge for sunlight or wind or tides, and more jobs being created in the renewable tech industry every day ... it's like you're shaking your fists at the world screaming about the horse and buggy being replaced.
Reports of the death of fossil fuels are, as Mark Twain said, greatly exaggerated. Clash of Titans: Wind vs. Coal Power - Geoffrey Pohanka, RCEnergy The headlines are clear: renewable energy is on the rise as a source of electricity for America and coal power is headed for the door. President Biden has set a goal 30,000MW of offshore wind by 2030 which is the equivalent of 2,500 12MW turbines and this does not include the ever increasing number of wind turbines being constructed and planned on land. Renewable energy, which includes solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, and hydroelectric power, now produces more of the nation’s electricity (20%) than coal (19%) according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Since 2008, coal-powered electrical generating capacity has declined 28%, while coal powered electrical generation has declined 61% (EIA). The reduction in coal power is largely due to the now abundant and inexpensive supply of domestic natural gas which has allowed the U.S. to reduce its CO2 emissions to the lowest level since 1992, and a per-capital emissions to the lowest level since 1950. While natural gas CO2 emissions are half that of coal per unit of energy, many have targeted natural gas energy for extinction as they have coal energy and perhaps even zero CO2 nuclear energy. Most would have to think that coal power, as well as fossil fuels in general, are on the ropes, awaiting a knockout blow from renewable energy and especially wind power. But, is this really the case? . . . .
They can lower the demand for oil to the point where full domestic production of oil can be easily achieved. And given that the tech behind renewables and alternate fuels is continually advancing, it silly to say never.
Are you aware that the US has enough coal reserves to last the country approx 2000 years. Why not use it.
Not only is what I posted cold hard science, it is cold hard math. We have been lied to for years about man made CO2. Sorry it doesnt fit the radical left lies and agenda.
Or you are being lied to now ... I like that YOUR scientists are always right, it's kind of cute in a, "bless your heart" kind of way.
Your math is right but your logic is flawed. Only one conclusion can be drawn from your math - that the weight of carbon dioxide relative to the weight of the atmosphere is approximately 7 parts per million. This doesn't tell us us anything about whether or not adding more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere can warm the surface of the earth. It is a logical leap to go from your conclusion to the important conclusion about the effect of adding more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere and what effect that that will have on the Earth's climate. 99.9% of the molecules in the atmosphere do not absorb a significant amount of the Earth's infrared radiation. That would include diatomic oxygen and nitrogen plus argon.
In addition to 750 solar generating plants and plans to build more. That's called augmentation - not a "white flag".
The best way for the world to prevent catastrophic climate change is to phase out coal-fired power plants or keep a small number if carbon capture technology is used.
It is already been greatly cleaned up due to clean air and water acts from the 1970's, it is NOT a problem anymore. You are 50 years out of date. LOL.
That was back when Republicans cared about the environment - Trump tried to roll back many of the regulations that helped that happen - so no, it's something that has to be continually fought for.
Sure. California Admits Wind & Solar Aren’t Reliable – Commissions Five New NatGas Plants ENERGY SECURITY AUGUST 21, 2021 ". . . As reported in the Fresno Bee, CA Assembly member Jim Patterson broke the news: The decision to install the five plants has been a result of flawed policies by decision-makers, he said. “California has been forced to do this because we now have growing demand on a grid that has flattening supplies and that has caused these Flex Alerts,” he said. “Our grid is destabilized because of political decisions.”. . . ."
Your politics doesn't impress me. It isn't a problem anymore and you know it since you didn't contradict my statement about it at all, just the usual partisan babble came in. Meanwhile it is reality sneaking in since the grid instability has to be supported by these new gas plants to level out the spiking and drops events in the grid.
