One problem....They are only concerned with limbs that pose a threat to lines....They will straight hack up ONE side of a tree with no concern how unbalanced they make it. Curious, is it the comp. "Asplund" They do much of that in Fl.

Now if you can get them to drop off some wood chips.....if you have room.

My regular tree guy says he could give me all I want. I just don't. The bridge across the creek to my garden is barely big enough for a mower. I don't want to be wheelbarrowing a truck load of wood chips up hill about 300 feet each way.

Getting trees cut down and limbs trimmed is not cheap. You were lucky to get it done for free. The power company comes around once a year trimming near their lines and that is a big plus especially in hurricane season.

Really it is the cleaning up that drives up the price and if you want the stumps ground you can double it again. When I just get them to drop things and me clean up it is much cheaper. We are officially limited to one pick up truck load sized pile of brush a week unless there is a bad storm but my city brush truck driver says just to put it all out there and he will get it. He sees no point in having to stop every week for two months when he can do it in one or two stops. I stack the wood for a guy I know who burns it to heat with and a neighbor for his fire pit when I have something I cut up on my own.

It might also have to do with all the extra rain leading to sewage overflow. Sewage run-off can be tied to red tide, I'm pretty sure (we got it coming up from Mexico, when I lived in San Diego).

    Happy "weekend!"

No doubt, lawn and ag. runoff too. Mosaic dumps 27 million gallons of "slightly acidic and radioactive" wastewater A DAY (Not a typo) into the Peace River in Bartow Fl. This flows roughly 80 miles and drains into Charlotte Harbor and then into the Gulf. Before a storm they can legally dump much more.

Weekend...ha!!! Just woke up in my computer chair, been dozing since midnight off and on. Not even bothering to go to the Gulf this weekend. Building this cage instead. Going to a glass company to get the glass cut exactly to measure today.

Yeah, I read your saying so, earlier. Hey, if D.I.Y. projects are what make you happy (and save you money), that works. There are no official requirements for spending & enjoying one's time-off. Though, I thought I also read-- or maybe it was just an educated guess, on my part-- something about quenching your project-induced, parched self, with a large quantity of beer.

Absolutely! It's like water to me. Didn't drink that much tonight though, just tired...now I'm wide awake. My two "days" off, throw me for a loop, sleepwise.

Beer! Drink all you want! They'll make more!

No chance.Tree service ain't cheap.Plus when they use their
huge wood chippers you don't get any of the chips. They collect it and
get paid for other uses.Like for stuff like peat moss.
I bought an el cheapo wood chipper at Tractor Farm Supply
which was around $ 500.It had some checkered reviews.
The one I got managed to start but not easily.I did a little chipping
{around 10 minutes worth} of small tree branches until it starting making louder
noises. So I shut it off.I went to re-start it and it wouldn't budge.
The huge blades inside seemed like they were out of sync. They
appeared rickity.I wasted no time in taking it back for a refund.
Tree Removal services are generally fly by night ripoffs. They charge in
round off numbers { a basic giveaway }.I bought a nice Echo chain saw for
this fall. But I don't have a place to dump cut tree limbs. My city offers free
pickup of small branches up to around 2 inches. But it's only twice a year.
In Middle spring and then in the fall.I took a few loads of branches last fall
after missing the free pickup. But people nearby the places that seem good for
dumping stuff like leaves and branches are prone to ratting out those who
do it.Leaves can no longer be burned on one's property.

It really is so cool. Mornings and evenings it would climb to the top of stalks that had open flowers and feast. During the day or if we had storms it would lower itself almost to the soil line. Im trying to get a better understanding of how far that type of caterpillar will travel before it pupates. Im going to try and find it and take some pictures. I planted more dill a few weeks ago. I have some parsley planted and cosmos. If the caterpillar makes it to the butterfly stage and its a female, she may lay eggs to overwinter.
I edited the pictures in the gallery to zoom in and save. I was shocked at how good the pictures came out.

The wildflowers we planted attracted a lot of butterflies. We are going to clear some spots for next years blooms, bees, and butterflies. I have saved some seeds from this years crop and plan on buying some more for the planting time.

Your pictures are great, sounds like a second hobby being born.

We got the remnants of Ida last night or at least that is what the weather report called them..remnants. My phone went on three times with tornado warnings and on top of that about 5 inches of rain. Ida was wide spread and messy. @politicalcenter did you get bad weather from the hurricane.

It has rained for months on and off. Very wet summer. Glad I put that roof on my house. A leaky roof would melt a house right out from under you.

Man it's a dead night here at work, have not seen a customer in almost 1 hour. I really really didn't feel like going to work tonight, but I climb my happy ass in the shower put on clean clothes put on my game face and go to work.

Work is sort of important I'm not the type to call in. If I call in I'm in jail the hospital Baker acted or hanging out with Jesus.

I brew me a pot of double strength coffee give me a big 44 oz cup and fill it full of ice and drink very strong black ice coffee

Some lady just bought $8 in gas, as I was putting the money in the register I noticed one of the $1 bills was not right it did not look right and also did not feel right so I was very much unsurprised when I put the currency marker to it and it confirmed it was counterfeit.

She was a good sport I went out and explained it to her and she gave me another dollar I don't think she tried to pass it to me purposefully she told me where she got it from change at another store and it was completely unsurprising to me.

I wasn't going to call the law over a dollar bill and like I said I'm sure she didn't try passing it on purpose.

Picture of the bill I marked it so it's obvious and you can see it what I wrote that with is the counterfeit detection pen.

Some years ago on a register someone tried passing me a $50 bill for about a $2 purchase, the currency marker said it was genuine but when I held it up to the light to look at the strip and the hologram turns out it was a $5 bill that had been bleached and reprinted.

Which if you think about it is a pretty good way to counterfeit. If you if you notice probably 9 out of 10 cashiers never bother to look for the strip or the hologram they only depend on the counterfeit detection marker.

Look at the margin on the front bottom of the bill it's too thin, The White strip and it's not even even.

I didn't think counterfeiters bothered with singles. Sign of the times?
