An increasing number of signs point to former President Donald Trump running for the White House again in 2024, Politico reported.

Besides taking expected steps — hiring staffers in Iowa, increased fundraising, a presence in the national media — Trump has been buoyed to run after seeing President Joe Biden's declining job approval numbers following the disastrous troops withdrawal from Afghanistan, and the resurgence of coronavirus, Politicoreported Tuesday.

"Trump sees Biden is on the ropes. He wants to throw punches as a combatant, not a heckler from the stands," Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., told Politico.

Gaetz added that Trump is in no rush to announce his intentions because "the base is rightly loyal to him. And a good rule in politics is to be a candidate for as short a time as necessary."

I can only hope that President will run again. America misses his leadership. We need his policies restored for the border, for the economy, for energy independence, and for national security. Biden has been a disaster on all those issues, left Americans behind, and wants to spend money like a drunken sailor.

I'll just put it out there: I'm a Trump supporter. I voted for him twice and don't regret my votes. But I don't think he should run again.

    1. Age. we already see the embarrassment Biden is. Trump is 75 and will be 78 for the 2024 election. Sure he's in great shape now, but at that age, who knows what can happen? A reasonable age window has passed.

    2. Winning Election: He lost in 2020, and what exactly will have changed in 2024 that will make it likely that he can win?

    3. Learned Lessons? Trump made a lot of mistakes in office. He was taken by McConnell, Ryan (!), hired terrible people and didn't fire terrible people. He took bad advice. I've seen zero evidence that he knows the mistakes he made and has learned any lessons from them.

    It's time to move on.

I think Trump is a lot better off cognitively than Biden and will remain so. What will have changed by 2024 has already started. One Biden screw up after another with disastrous results will have people with buyers remorse as well as a desire to turn things around. I disagree. While the first part of his term were setbacks he did seem to learn and pick better people. I don’t see him repeating those mistakes.

I voted for him as well and he did a lot of great things but he should get behind DeSantis. Its time to move onto someone else. Even if Trump wins it will be impeachment after impeachment because the left got their feelings hurt. AGAIN.

    Not really "newsworthy" though.

Ever since Trump Lost, it has been a foregone conclusion that he was running in 2024.

Trump "showing signs" of running in 2024 is about as surprising (and "newsworthy") as tomorrow's sunrise.

    Obviously, Trump craves the spotlight.

And, should he decide to run, he would be unbeatable in the GOP Primary.
^Which is (also) a foregone conclusion.

I don't know, I would like to share your negativity on Trump's 2024 chances, but I am not so certain. All it takes is a recession in 2023, and people will long for the "good" times when Trump bought "prosperity" through tax cuts on the national credit card.

What I would be scared of if I was you: He tried to overthrow a rightfully elected president last time. He didn't succeed. Next time, he will have more experience. So, if you want a wannabe dictator, absolutely vote for Trump in the primary. The thing is, though, you won't have much choice. Because if he runs, he WILL be the nominee of the Trump party.

Biden screw ups have nothing to do with whether Trump should run again. Biden screw ups were inevitable and even Biden supporters seemed to expect that to be baked into the cake. They just wanted to get rid of Trump by any means necessary.

I missed the learning that Trump allegedly did. As far as I can tell, he learned no lessons and made no improvements in his governing. I've got zero interest in a Jared and Ivanka second term, which is what I'm afraid is what we would get.

I'm sorry, but that's simply absurd. You used to be a thoughtful poster, but trying to pass off that nonsense (without having the excuse of an emotional election year) speaks to the very low quality of leftist "thought" on Trump.

There are a lot of legitimate criticisms you could make of Trump, but instead you focus on illegitimate nonsense. You at least at one time showed the ability to be better than that, but it's really hard to take seriously this level of talking point stupidity.

Just wow, coming from the party of impeachment the day he took office and 4 years of fake Russia gate, that seems really hypocritical to me.

I hope not, but that's up to the GOP. For me four years of Trump's childish antics like name calling and throwing temper tantrums like a spoiled four year old brat along with his 3rd grade schoolyard bullying tactic was more than enough for me to vote Democratic for president for the first time since Jimmy Carter in 1976 and 1980. Although I didn't vote straight Republican for president as I voted for Perot twice and for Johnson twice, 2012 and 2016.

If Trump does run in 2024, a big if, I'd probably vote Democratic again just to avoid his obnoxious, uncouth, rude and childish persona. But we'll wait and see.

I voted for Cruz last time and will vote for DeStantis this time if he's on the ballot. If not, I guess it depends on who the GOP runs. If it's between a weak-kneed lying coward like Romney and Trump, I'll take Trump.

-Never called Biden to concede the election
-Called state election officials to pressure them to "find" votes for him
-Had a mob storm the Capitol to prevent certification of the election
-Called GOP congressmen during the mob attack on the Capitol to pressure them into not certifying the election
-Thinly veiled threats to Pence that they "would like him less", if he did the constitutional duty to certify the election
-Started the "stop the steal" campaign even before he lost the election
-Financed bogus recounts and audits through fanclub money to keep the "stop the steal" campaign going

I guess all these things must just have happened in my illegitimate leftist talking points imagination? I guess those things are perfectly normal in the transition of power after a presidential election? I guess trying to prevent the certification of an election that he lost must be a perfectly constitutional thing to do?

Now, before you accuse other posters of illegitimate stupid talking points, maybe you could revisit your support for all these unconstitutional activities?

    I love Trump.

His election was his first ever political job, now that he’s experienced he’ll do better a second time around.

Whether he runs or not, it’s straight republican ticket for me, liberals just destroy everything they touch.

I just want to say at least you're calling it a mob. Which is a correct terminology. Now, I feel as though on that day(and perhaps the days leading up to it), Trump played to the worst of his character. For the better part of four years, everyone clamored for him to be this dictatorial character(while he wasn't so), until FINALLY, finally 1/6 was the Great Democratic Hope! He finally buckled, and showed Democrats what they want to see.

It's why they created the Commission, it's why the House is defacto useless at this time for the American People. It's the ultimate distraction, and a political weapon against "der Trump"

Now, I am notably a Nationalist Authoritarian, a self-proclaimed Fascist-Technocrat. I wouldn't mind a former and proper American Empire. But not necessarily under Trump. I believe the best heads of State are young, vibrant and prepared for a long future. But to me, the democracy had crumbled starting from when it was created under the Rockerfeller Republicans and their shall we use a familiar word: collusion with newspapers and money'd interests, that's how we got the lobbyists we have today.

With an Empire, no special interests, no favors. Just workers on behalf of the country and citizens.

The answer to your question, "I guess all these things must just have happened in my illegitimate leftist talking points imagination?" is mostly yes. Particularly "Had a mob storm the Capitol to prevent certification of the election." Again, that's an idiotic talking point, but if at this date, you still think that Trump actually had a mob storm the capitol for an insurrection, then don't blame me for not taking you seriously.

Huh? Is it not true that Humpty did all he could to delegitimise the election results, including mounting a bullshit campaign about electoral fraud, and leading/inciting a protest to stop the certification process? The nut-case, the 'stable genius,' to this very day insists that he won in a landslide? And have you forgotten his absurd remarks about Covid.....'We have 15 cases and in a few days, there will be none,' or similar?

I don't give a damn how many times the left says Biden won.....he didn't. Calling getting more votes only because of fake mail-in ballots is not winning, it's ****ing fraud.

4 years worth of deep-state attempted coup via Russia Russia Russia and whatever else against Trump.....and people think Biden actually won fair and square? The guy who couldn't get 2% of the vote the previous 2 times he ran for President all-of-a-sudden got more votes than the messiah Hussein Obama himself? Yeah right.

It must be hard to admit that you voted (twice) for the guy who actually did all this. We were just lucky that the House was in Dems' hands. Had the Trump party had the majority on 1/6, who knows what would have happened. What do you think would have been the consequence of the House failing to certify the election for Biden?

I see, however, that calling others "idiotic" is easier than admitting that Trump made an attempt at stealing the election. You are usually a pretty reasonable poster too. That's why it is so difficult for me to understand why you try to rewrite history as to what happened on 1/6 and the couple of months before.

BTW: If the 1/6 mob didn't try to stop the certification of the election for Biden, what exactly were they trying to achieve?

I mean he was telling his DOJ to claim fraud when they found none, and asking states to “find” more votes….don’t you think he’ll do it again? What if it works this time?

Sure he's in great shape... he can find any number of doctors to sign off on what he tells them to in that regard....

He's a complete mental case.... Joe Biden is old and a little confused at times, but he's clinically sane....

America knows that and will vote accordingly a second time, should Nutso run again.... I can see a 10 million vote margin, with NC going into the blue column...

    Biden WON (Fair and Square)...
Biden received over 81 Million Votes...

^The Above 2 Sentences are REALITY...

That said, anybody is free to believe that 2+2=5 or the Eath is Flat, Etc...

    As far as Trump 2024?

As long as Trump is Healthy and Willing to Run, what would stop him?
