Mitch McConnell caves in to Democrats... giving them their 'nuclear option' back to use for their $3.5 TRILLION DOLLAR 'Socialism-lite' schemes.

    https://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/senate-dems-accept-gop-debt-ceiling-offer-mcconnell

As it was, Democrats were going to have to use their nuclear option to jam through raising the debt ceiling, which meant there wouldn't be the ability to use this one-time weapon to cram the $3.5 Trillion Dollar spending extravaganza down our throats.

But now, Mitch McConnell has enabled these hyperliberal Democrats to "have-their-cake-and-eat-it", too!

Beautiful move, Mitch! You've given many of us a stark reminder of why the Republican Party is NO place for real Conservatives....

Lol...poor Mitch is a coward and he panicked when he saw that Americans were blaming him for trying to bankrupt the country just to 'own the libs'.
When are the cons going to try some actual policies that help the country instead of trying to break it apart?
The best thing that repubs could for the country is grow a set and throw trump and his cult under the bus before he completely ruins what's left of our democracy. Trying to pander to a seditious cult is no way to run a country.

McConnell SHOULD have said, "Hey, Schumer and Pelosi -- you've got a NUCLEAR OPTION to do any damned thing you like! So, how just how important is the almighty-god 'debt ceiling' to you Leftists, anyway?!"

But did Mitch do that? Oh, HELL, no! Instead, just make it easy for these wanna-be socialists to 'run-the-table', you cowardly old jerk!

    1. McConnell didn't give D's "what they want".... he gave the Ds what he wants them to have
2 There are more than one nuclear options available, were Joe Manchin so inclined.. but it wasn't going to happen for this debt ceiling thing anyway
    3. The 3.5T is coming via reconciliation anyway, and McConnell already knows that...

McConnell already knows the Country sees the debt ceiling raise as paying the last Presidents bills. He had no choice.

Politicians (sometimes dems, usually republicans) have played politics with this too many times. It doesn’t fool anyone anymore. We know what it is, and we know it’ll happen.

Are you against raising it? Or just want as much obstruction as possible?

With reconciliation you still need 50 votes and Joe and Senima will never support 3.5 trillion.

Everyone realizes that raising the debt ceiling is to pay for prior spending? It is for things like the covid stimulus checks that I saw very few people here objected to on either side the political spectrum.

Oh the American Marxists would just love that wouldn't they?

And the squad will never approve the bill with the Hyde Amendment and Manchin has vowed to make that a condition of even a greatly reduced amount!

Mitch is a coward who won’t even stand up to trump, so don’t expect leadership from him or any other republicans who failed to do their duty with trump when they had the chance.

Lol, it’s the same performance they play every year. Both parties are on the same side. They both know they are going to raise the debt limit. The global economy since the marshal plan has been designed so that raising the debt limits are absolutely necessary. It’s by design to keep the rich rich and the poor in debt up to their eyeballs and under control. Money stopped being worth anything real a long time ago. Now it’s all a big shell game to keep the elite rich and powerful. Democrats and Republicans are the same party, playing different roles to keep us divided, in debt, and under their control.

Let's put some important caveats: I didn't object largely because people were forced out of work and forced out of a living, not by their own design(as some statistical outliners tried to have it) but by government fiat! Without said fiat, there wouldn't have been a need for the stimulus to begin with.

(Actually, without our early 'intervention' actions, it's quite possible there never would've been a Delta but that's a hypothesis that's unprovable or testable.)

As right he should. Playing chicken with the debt ceiling was a stupid idiotic move. You don't screw around with that, no matter what party you're in and what your goal is. Shame on both the Republicans and the Democrats who tried turning the debt ceiling into a political weapon.

Mitch is all about Mitch. The dems greased his palm and padded his pocket. That is what they ALL are about. This conservative vs liberal narrative is only to keep the sheeple distracted while they drain the treasury.

not sure why you blame Mitch

Democrats and Republicans alike have played this game many times. And they always extend the ceiling for a short period of time and right around the holidays so they can once again inject panic into the market. In the end, they all know that they will never be held accountable by the voters for their insatiable appetite to spend on pet projects and employ friends and family.

Yeah, but that's what everybody is calling it until it's finalized...I'd say reconciliation bill, but there could be multiple ones of those...

    Call it what you will...

Democrats won't use the Nuclear Option or the Reconciliation process. Using these tools means Democrats would go it alone which they do not want to do. They are not willing to accept full responsibility if things go awry. They want the Republicans to share in the blame. Warren saying "McConnell caved" sounds more like a victory for McConnell than the Democrats.

The negotiations are also about introducing bills that would reduce the government's ability to spend spend spend.

Is the debt ceiling negotiations are being used as leverage by the Republicans to get bills passed that would limit government spending in the future. No one is against paying the bills.
