On November 3, over half of all American people gave Biden a mandate. If his presidency ends, and he hasn't fulfilled it, this administration will have been a failure. In no particular order, these are:
    • Protect Roe v Wade
    • Protect Democracy (voting rights)
    • Fix healthcare (significantly improve it)
    • Mitigate the effects of AGW (achieve the goals in the GND appropriate for his time in office)
    • Protect Civil rights (LGBTQ rights and take noticeable steps towards ending institutional racism)
    • Bring ALL the criminals from the past administration to justice.
There is no excuse not to accomplish these. I will not accept "oh... but think of the filibuster" as an excuse. I will not accept "SCOTUS is partisan" as an excuse. Biden has all the legal tools to accomplish all these. Not accomplishing even a single one of these will mean this administration failed.

I don't care about the southern border, about Wall Street or about fixing the national debt that Trump left behind.... I'm not saying that these are not important to address. Just that they are not the first priority.

He must not let us down. Trump let down his base with the promises that got him elected all of which he failed to fulfill. And they ... not only accepted it, but were eager to make up excuses for him. WE must not accept a single one of the above to fail. And there are no excuses.

BTW, for the sake of transparency, I opened this thread so I can use it later as a reference to be used in the future against anybody insinuating that my comments are somehow "partisan", and not the result of defending what is objectively right.

No they didn't. A mandate would not be a four seat house majority and a tied senate.

That's Biden's problem. Not mine. He damn well better deliver with a four seat House majority and a tied Senate. Because even if the Senate and the House didn't get the mandate, HE did!

Stop making up excuses for Biden!

The only mandate Biden has set for himself is to do what he can to keep the Democrats in power for decades. If he has to buy off most of the population to do it he will, no matter how much it costs. His actions clearly show that. The Democrats are determined to stop any protests by stamping all over our First Amendment and trying to restrict the rights of Americans of their Second Amendment. Now they also want the right to get into your checking/savings account for anyone they want to check on with $600.00 or more. They are on a power grab to turn this country socialist and shut up anyone who apposes them.

Trump did his best to try and fill all his promises in spite of a wall of opposition against everything he wanted to do. Still he had one of the best economies we have seen in decades. A far cry from Obama's worst recovery in fifty years. Remember Pelosi saying not one cent for the wall? Blacks had it better under Trump than they did under Obama. He left the military in far better shape than Obama did. He was able to fix the VA where thousands of our vets were dying just trying to get in and then get good care after they got in. Bush couldn't do it and neither could Obama. Inflation was low, today it is higher than it's been in years. Renting and buying a home today is all but unaffordable for the average family.

I have never seen so many Trump loyalists trying to get Biden off the hook. Amazing!

No! With us on the left doing "his best" is not good enough. I know Trump loyalists would support Trump even if he had stood for four years in the middle of 5th Avenue shooting at random people.... But we on the left are much more demanding!

Biden ran on his being the moderate in a field extreme liberals. At least that was the impression his campaign tried to convey. So far he has sorely failed at governing as a moderate. He's no more a moderate than Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren.

Of course Golem you don't worry about the border or the national debt. When did the Democrats ever worry about either? Biden made it plain we could easily take in 2 million a year. Never mind we don't seem to be able to take care of the Americans we already have. It's always been what more can the government give me. Just the opposite of what Kennedy said. It's freebees after freebees. Democrats are great of giving away money and stuff as long as it doesn't come out of their own pocket. Then it's been shown when they do, they are cheapskates. The give less of their money, time and blood to help the needy.

One thing I will agree with you about is fixing our health care system. If we could take that burden off of business, or at least lessen it, it would do wonders of bringing up wages. That is one of business's biggest expense. But doing like Europe does is not the answer.

In bold, the single most important one IMO. The rest will not survive without protecting voting rights.

Fake News. Biden isn't delivering anything that he promised, he is a liar and a faker who screws up everything he touches. That is why FJB is the chant of thousands.

    FJB!

"Joe Biden’s catastrophic slide in the polls has robbed him of the persuasive power that more successful presidents enjoy. We see this in the way the deep split in the Democratic Party is playing out: Biden wants to tip the scales toward the far left, but he lacks the ability to do so. Thus he casually lets it be known that Kyrsten Sinema isn’t returning his phone calls" in order to dog whistle violence against her beyond the felony harassments she has already been subjected to.

    "Joe Manchin had no compunction about walking out on Chuck Schumer last night shows how little sway the Democrats’ leaders–preeminently, Biden–currently have:}
That's an understatement. These pathetic clowns are desperate.

Well sir, may I suggest you dig a little deeper because you seem to be ignorant of what Biden and the Democrats really want to do. I agree with you, many Republicans think Trump is next to God. I don't hold him to that esteem. I see plenty wrong with him and if he would run again and win, I'd like to see him do many things different. I agree with you, Democrats are much more demanding. There is no end to their wants. But staying in power is the biggest. They will do anything to achieve that.

As for their Green New Deal, they are going all about that wrong. The only thing they will achieve is spending billions on useless programs that won't come near fixing our planet. It will chase business away by creating dozens of new regulations and high taxes where American business can no longer compete in the world marketplace. It will drive up prices for electricity and heating fuel for people who can least afford it. All the while do nothing to fight global warming or pollution.

Biden's current job approval is lower than Trump's at the same point in his presidency. Biden has 47% of probable voters giving him strong disapproval of his Presidency.

    https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/biden_administration/prez_track_oct08

No where near half of all Americans voted for Joe Biden. Joe Biden received 81 million votes and the populaiton of the United States is 329.5 million given Joe Biden 24.5% of the population of the United States. If you go by the number of elgible voters in the United States which is 240 million, Joe Biden's share of elgible votes is a very small 33.75%. Just looking at what I like to call the 'real' numbers, one can easily dismiss any claims of a mandate as unsupported by any objective reality.

And if that were not enough, I would submit to everyone this question; Did anyone at all really vote for Joe Biden or did they vote against Trump? I didn't hear anyone advocating for Joe Biden for anything prior to him receiving the nomination. The ballots just as well should have been printed with the choices, Trump and Not Trump. With Joe Biden's myriad of policy failures, both foreign and domestic, and poll numbers down the drain pipe, there should never be talk of anything a mandate.

I couldn't care less what they "want" to do. They need to do what we elected them to do. So far, it looks like it is all on track. But we need to make sure it stays on track. And that it comes to fruition.

I don't care about Democratic voters perceived problems and issues(largely because they are perceived issues.) Also add in the fact that their solutions are worse than the problems and I could care less. What I care about is a government that functions on actual problems:

    -The deficit continues to expand
    -We still don't have a long-term budget
-We finally got, somewhat of an infrastructure deal but laden with the usual pork it'll be less then what it could've been.
-Our parliament is still distracted and unable to pass bills that are helpful to the people
-And of late, our military command seems to be broken beyond repair.

More paramount to me, then democratic fictional concerns.

So why are you giving the courts and Congress and the voters an excuse for their failures? The President was not given the authority to accomplish these goals. Some of the power rests in other branches and they need to be held accountable for how they use, or choose not to use their power. You just handed everyone else a pass because its convenient for you to make it all simple for you. You let Congress the courts and the voters completely off the hook for their own choices. Its wrong.

Biden legal tool are useless if the power is not sitting in the executive branch, He needs a functioning Legislative and Judicial branch. I hold Congress responsible for what it does or does not do, The courts responsible for what it does and does not do, and the President responsible for what he does and voters responsible for what they do or do not do.

In other words, if voters do not vote for sufficient legislators with a like agenda to accomplish the voters stated agenda, then voters can damn well blame themselves.

Of course. But nobody told Biden that he would control Congress. Congress doing their job certainly would make Biden's life easier. But I still hold Biden responsible if he doesn't accomplish those things, which are what he promised to accomplish. A President can do a lot of arm twisting in Congress. I understand they don't want to abuse that power, and they only use it for what is really in their core program. Otherwise they become a lame duck President, like Trump was for his whole term in office. But he does need to use that power to accomplish the above, at a minimum.

I did both, but certainly, above all, against Trump. But it makes no difference. A President has to accomplish what they ran on. We should not allow Trump to be the one to set the bar.

All those things that should be addressed. But not priorities. None of those are what Biden was elected for.

Congress needs to get their own issues in order. But Biden needs to fulfill his mandate first.

I'm not talking about "failures". I'm talking about mandates. Congress did not receive a mandate. Biden did. And if two or three lawmakers are standing in his way, he has quite a bit of power to do some arm-twisting. A power that he should not abuse, like Trump did. Because if he does, he loses it. But if he uses it wisely, he can get some things done. And those "some things" are what I listed on the OP. Sure... I wish he would get a TPP agreement, or that he would curve the debt that Trump left behind, .... And he might not get support from Congress on those. But those are not his priorities. They are not what he ran on.

Trump already poisoned the well. Remember that 'honeymoon period' that Obama used to get Obamacare, and that Trump used to get his tax cut through, and which every president has, where it is presumed that Congress will give his agenda a fair hearing because he purports to have the legitimate trust of the voters? That presupposes that The President did not 'steal the election' doesn't it? If the President cheated, then there is no duty by the opposition to give his policies a fair and honest hearing is there. That's the beauty of filing all those lawsuits and claiming the wrong man took the oath.

I think you are overstating your case.

Biden obtained about 81 million votes which represents about 32% of the population old enough to vote, of all the American people it was only about 24%.

He has no control of the Senate and the House is just about out of control as well. Funny thing, the libs don't march in lockstep to dear leader like the cons do.
