Democrats want all women to be eligible. Conservatives want no women to be eligible.
    Let's compromise.

That is correct....and most Anti-Choicers believe women should be punished for having sex and getting an abortion....an asinine idea but that's what they think...

So you think only "certain" people deserve equality?

You believe basic human rights have to be earned.

You don't believe people are born equal?

You don't believe "all men are created equal"?

Or do you take that literally and only apply it to MEN ?

    That's preposterous...

There is no wishy washy "kinda sorta"....it IS punishment as it's meant to be.

Last I saw men couldn't get abortions since they don't get pregnant......

NOPE, not if "some women" are being punished.

LOLOLOLOL and since when are conservatives for gender equality??:roflol::roflol::roflol::roll::roflol::roll::roflol:???.. you don't seem to be which I gathered from your posts...

    In fact see post 126 :) :)

    :) From another thread:

    From a pro-Choicer:
"By the time a woman is caught violating this law, she is already dying of infection because she did not seek competent medical care out of fear of imprisonment."

I think you'll find that PROPER conservatives are against forcing women to register for the draft.

Do you object to creating more equality, even if it won't get to total equality?

No. Why? Does it feel like it is?

Quit trying to dodge the fact that righties do NOT care about women.

    Is that "caring" ?

Manhood is not really a choice and neither is womanhood, so the only choice they can (and should) have in this regards to this is being a soldier or not being a soldier.

Equality is unfair. I am not for it,

Not a fan of neither the draft nor compulsory conscription. Anyone who wants it and who has the proper qualities should be accepted regardless of their gender. This is a completely different issue though and I do not see how it relates to what is being discussed here.

Start a thread in the Women's Rights sub or post a poll in the Poll-sub. Or just find one of the millions of threads that I am sure already exists about that topic and have that discussion there.

If men don't have the choice of being a soldier, then neither should women who have weaseled out of the very thing that defines womanhood (gestating a baby after conception has taken place).

That's irrelevant. You can oppose compulsory conscription, but still recognize that it is better for both genders to be subject to it than only one of them.

(Or recognize that it is better for that other gender to be partially subject to it than not at all)

    Let's use some LOGIC here.

If an abortion is a private medical procedure how would the draft board know a woman had one?

LOL, so you think having a kid defines "womanhood"....how quaint and sexist.....

LOL, HERE IS SOMONE WHO THINKS IF WOMEN DON'T HAVE KIDS THEY HAVE WEASELED OUT OF SOMETHING ....AN incredibly ODD statement..

Why do Anti-Choicers have this need to reduce women to nothing more than incubators.?????

BTW, How about if a man hasn't produced 3 healthy kids, and supports them and their mother in a lovely house with all they need including college educations...he should be dragged off and punished by being put in uniform in the most dangerous area in the mid east..

.....he shouldn't be able to WEASEL out of his only purpose on earth...

    RIGHT ?????

So you support giving one gender rights that another gender does not have.
You want all the benefits without any of the detriments.

My proposal would simply allow women to CHOOSE which rights they wanted - whether they will be treated like traditional women or whether they will be treated like men.

I think you'd be surprised at how many women would jump at the idea of pregnancy to get out of a war.

HERE'S SOMETING YOU HAVE PROBABLY NEVER THOUGHT OF....how about treating women like PEOPLE !!!!

WOW What a wild idea ...women as PEOPLE!!!!

And you'd be surprised at how many women have fought in wars to protect your butt...

AS USUAL you had to CHERRY PICK the post you quoted because you could NOT address what was in it....

That is an extremely primitive and low view of what defines a woman, but I cannot really say I am shocked.

I will say it again; move tomSaudimArabia or Afghanistan -- They are basically your ideal society. :)

I am very principled in my opposition to it. I do not compromise with evil.

Anti-abortionists do not have that word in their vocabulary.

In other words: women should not have the right to choose their own life. Got it.

And what exactly is a "traditional woman" and why is the only alternative to it to "be a man"?

I would too and I am a man. I even dodged miltaty service twice in both of my parents' homecountries (oh no, immigrants! I kmow you Conservatives are spooked out by them)... Actually three times as I did it in the country I was born, raised and still live as well (although it was not compulsory here). :D

And that was just military service. If it was down to actual war I would run away even faster.

Guess I am a woman now.

Their ideal government would track their credit cards too to make sure they are buying hygiene products on a consistent enough basis. Sneaking into and waiting outside the ladies' room would be left to the civilians who wish to report suspects on the official website.

"We are the freedom party" they will keep insisting.
