Biden Exempts Some Crimes by Illegal Immigrants as Basis for Deportation Federal immigration officials no longer will view unlawful entry into the country as the sole basis for detaining and deporting illegal immigrants, under a new Biden administration policy. The policy will limit deportation to what immigraion officials call aggravated felons, such as violent gang members and others who commit violent crimes. Critics of President Joe Biden’s new policy as stated by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas note that it will allow those who commit domestic violence, drunk drivers, and others convicted of crimes to stay in America—amid an ongoing border crisis. The Kennedy era Democrats always did have a soft spot for drunk driving, by why are supportive of domestic violence?
Isn't this pretty much tantamount to saying "the law will not be enforced"? But if an illegal alien goes on a string of shopliftings, or commits burglary, they will not be deported?
In all fairness, there is a little bit of two sides to this issue here. Women falsely accuse men of domestic violence all the time, and usually almost always the woman is automatically believed and the man is arrested is made to serve prison time. I would be okay with, or it would be more "understandable" if, the migrant would not face deportation for the domestic violence unless there was much stronger evidence of the domestic violence than just the testimony of the woman, either severe harm to the woman that the woman would be extremely unlikely to have inflicted to herself, or multiple witnesses. Now if only they would apply the same protections that are being given to these migrants against deportation to the issue of gun rights.
And it looks one of the crimes that Biden will exempt is committing fraud when gaining naturalization. DHS drafts plan to allow fraudsters to keep citizenship The Homeland Security Department is circulating a draft proposal that would severely curtail its attempts to strip citizenship from people who were naturalized based on fraud. The Washington Times saw a draft of the memo, from Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to the heads of the three immigration agencies. The memo says people might not apply for citizenship because they worry about losing it in the future. “Naturalized citizens deserve finality and security in their rights as citizens,” the memo says. “Department policies should not cause a chilling effect or barriers for lawful permanent residents seeking to naturalize.” Yes we wouldn't want people committing fraud to gain citizenship and worry they might lose it if they get caught.
