I remember when our FFA class raise chickens in a coup in the school parking lot. When they got big enough, we cleaned them, and sold them thru the local grocery stores to make money. WE WERE ALL ASKED TO BRING KNIVES TO SCHOOL TO DRESS AND CUT UP THE CHICKENS. How many radical liberals just fainted dead away reading that?????
Indeed....when I was in school all the boys and fully half the girls had a pocket knife of some sort on their person, and NO ONE ran amok with one....what happened to us?
They had cool royal blue Jackets too... Still a big thing here today... They raise a ton of money for charities and such... You know good old Merikan boys and girls learning hard work, morals and community charity! God love um!
AND------------------I just remembered I have a small pocket knife my 3rd grade teacher gave me for Christmas. That would have been in 1946. BTW I never stabbed anyone or turned out to be an axe murderer.

Back in 1950 give or take in small towns in Nebr, high school kids came to school in their pickup with guns on the rack in the back window. Likey as not so did most of the male teachers and the principal.
