BLM leader threatens ‘riots, fire, bloodshed’ in NYC if Eric Adams gets tough on crime

Thread title is misleading, based on the full quote it's pretty clear Hawk Newsome is warning what will happen beyond BLM taking to the streets, not saying that he'll make it happen.

“If he thinks that they’re going to go back to the old ways of policing, then we are going to take to the streets again. There will be riots, there will be fire and there will be bloodshed because we believe in defending our people,” said Hawk Newsome, co-founder of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, after a heated meeting with Adams in Brooklyn Borough Hall.

“So there is no way that he is going to let some Gestapo come in here and harm our people,” Newsome told the Daily News. “We pray for peace but ... prepare for the worst.”

I just don't see how someone whose praying for peace would be making threats?

Anyway, it looks like the mayor elect isn't budging, nor does he think Newsome's comments is representative of the larger BLM movement.

If Adams wrong and Newsome does represent the larger movement that means a democrat and the leader of our nations largest city, that proves that BLM =/= democrat. Though I'm sure many here will flail about here w/ the mental gymnastics to make that work.

If anyone has any actual evidence or proof that its meant as a threat I'd love to see it. Riots erupted all over, is there any proof that they weren't more than protests that got out of hand?

Further down the article quotes Newsome as saying "I am not threatening anyone. I am just saying that it’s a natural response to aggressive oppression, people will react.”

It was a PREDICTION, not a THREAT. But spin is very important to the intolerant right because they must create an evil enemy.

 

Did he warn or did he threaten? Trump warned/threatened riots also. Guess it depends how you want to hear it.

So, while the police appear to be less aggressive based on claims of excessive force, and following BLM riots about police brutality and racist policing, crime has drastically increased. These are inconvenient truths to the BLM fanboys.

I know it's hard for those on the left to accept... but the mayor, the police, the white people..... they aren't the ones to blame. Stop with the victimization and add a little self reflection into the culture of the black community which increases crime rates.

If Hawk Newsome thinks black lives matter, he should be supporting more robust law enforcement and punishment of criminals, not less.
