    Thoughts about Lourdes

I have never been to Lourdes.
But in the summer of 2022 I plan to go there - just to visit some old friend who lives there.

    Now I wonder:
Has anyone of you ever been there?

And what do you think about Lourdes and Bernadette?

I am not sure what to think.

    In short:

Do you think there was something mysterious about it
    - or can it all be easily explained away?

Has anybody of you ever been to Lourdes - or do you know friends or relatives who have been there?

Everything that I write or speak is somewhat flawed....
but it often takes Messiah Yeshua Jesus five to ten years or more to show me the errors in my ideas......
my opinions are actually my opinions but I admit that they are flawed but here goes.......

Near death experiencer Christian Andreason got the impression that The Holy Spirit was YHWH the Mother.....
(generally)... but that would not at all rule out the Holy Spirit appearing as a man.... or in any form that the Holy Spirit wanted to appear in...... and one of the goals of the Holy Spirit will tend to offend most of us........ myself included......

34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
    (Matthew 10:34)

Messiah Yeshua - Jesus and The Holy Spirit tend to act in a rather artistic manner that can tend to produce squabbles that divide Christians....... and we must cry out for more and more and more of the Holy Spirit in order to rise above those divisions......

I believe that genuine miracles take place at Lourdes....... and one of the goals is to annoy Protestant Scribes and Pharisees or Messianic Gentile Scribes and Pharisees like myself.... who tend to hold the errors of the Roman Catholic Church during the Dark Ages against modern Catholics.......

I do try my best to work on that issue that I admit is there within my heart and mind.....

    http://greendesertstoreducecarbon.blogspot.com/

I think that the time has came for The Mr. Mitt Romney perhaps along with President Russell Nelson to pay a visit to Italy......

There you speak words of wisdom.
Yes, the Catholics of today are often held responsible for the Spanish Inquisition of long ago.
Sometimes a Catholic only needs to use a term like "Name Day" to get the sharp question: "Are you on your way to burn some witches again?"

Thank you for your prayers.... you were praying for me weren't you?

I posted a message on several groups today that could easily assist several Roman Catholics to return to the religion of their youth and..... this could also help many Protestants to realize that Messiah Yeshua - Jesus does indeed have a Cyrus style treaty between Himself and the Roman Catholic Church. Your prayers about this leading several sinners back to genuine repentace will be greatly appreciated... I am beginning to listen to this for the second time today......
    ........

The near death experience of Dr. Gloria Polo is easy to misunderstand because it points the listener to only one church whereas in fact Messiah Yeshua - Jesus will work with us no matter what church or synagogue that we decide to join, but..... this account could help to turn America and the world back to our Creator.

Messiah Yeshua - Jesus is the ultimate Cyrus predicted in Isaiah chapters forty two to forty six..... and Jesus works with all groups that sincerely attempt to please our Creator and begin to change our lives away from evil. Messiah Yeshua - Jesus has a Cyrus treaty or Covenant with Roman Catholics, Jews, Protestants and with all people who truly want to be ethical and do better today than we did yesterday.

My grand mother was there, I was not and I won't as I'm not catholic. She kept her illness, but she lived a long time despite that.

I think one has not to be Catholic to go there.
Just as one has not to be Catholic to be interested in one's name day - or in Saint Nicholas, the bringer of gifts in December.

Yes obviously, but I don't have a specific interest in this place to be honest, if I pass nearby, maybe I would visit. My grandmother visited it because she was a catholic believer, I don't know if she hoped to be cured, but it had a deep sense in her faith as being sick to go to Lourdes, sense I wouldn't find personally.

We visited Lourdes during our first trip to France nearly 20 years ago. We have been back to France many times since but have never been back to Lourdes. We saw it because we were on a Best of France type bus tour. I think if you are Catholic and are visiting for spiritual reasons your experience would be totally different. My opinion is the place was extremely crowded and was the textbook definition of a tourist trap. The church built over the grotto is aesthetically pleasing and definitely a photo op. The grotto itself is nice. Very crowded again and if you have a good knowledgeable guide it will definitely enhance the experience. There are a tons of tourist shops and the glass and plastic bottles that you can fill with water make great gifts when you come home. I gave away over a dozen of the small glass bottles to co-workers. Even the non catholic / religious ones got a kick out of having a small bottle of holy water to protect against the Vampires. :D

These things can only be explained by accepting that we as human beings are limited, and that there is a greater world above and beyond our own 3 dimensional one.

To give you an example, I know someone personally who was saved by a Saint who was 6 thousand miles away at the time. This friend, who is now the Mother Superior of Saint Nina Monastery in Maryland, was converting to the Orthodox faith at the time. She was under the tutelage of an Orthodox monk in Boston, when she attended a tea party at the Hyatt regency Hotel in Kansas City Missouri. The two walkways in the hotel were packed with party goers when they suddenly collapsed killing 114 and injuring 216. She was caught under the debris, and no one could help her.

Suddenly this man came, and he grabbed her arm and gently pulled her out. He comforted her and told her that he loved her and after a while left. She never saw him again and assumed he was her guardian angel - that is until she saw his picture on a wall. It turned out he was the spiritual father of the monk who had mentored her; the Elder Amilianos.

Yet the Elder was thousands of miles away at the time in Mount Athos. This is called bi-location, and he's not the only Saint with this charism. I know the famous Catholic Saint Padre Pio was able to bi-locate. Anyway this is just one of the many charisms given to Saints by God.

That's funny! Actually the Catholics never burned witches, the Protestants did - which is probably why witchcraft today isn't as prevalent in Western Europe as it is in other parts of the world. Also I read that the Spanish inquisition only found 2 thousand people guilty - yet in Britain, the persecution was so severe that they converted a whole country in 100 years.

Everything depends on who is writing the history books.

What a beautiful procession. Thank you for it. The food looks great too. But then it is France.

It's nice to know that the country is not all doomed - except for Paris that is, or at least according to Saint Don Bosco.

Hey Daddy, where's Paris cause what I see
is a big black hole looking back at me.

    Oh son you know,
it went astray back in its day

So now it's gone, to be no more
so we'll all know what'll be in store

    for us :frustrated:- Jeannette

Holy Water is not against vampires you know? It's against Covid, and everything else. Try it? A sip a day, keeps the doctor away. Works better than Brandy - although it might not taste as good.

Thus said Saint Luke of Crimea, who was the top surgeon of the USSR. If he wasn't, he would have ended up in the Gulag. Not joking here you know!

    The Gulag? Oh no!

Never been there....although going thru my stem cell transplant I was blessed with some of the water from Lourdes.

It would be hard for me to chose....where to go....Fatima, Medjugorje, or Lourdes.

Still have some of the water from Lourdes....I do believe....

Have any amputees been cured by drinking the Lourdes water?

Having any healing claims been subject to scientific verification and documentation - i.e., can any claims be supported with actual evidence.

Having any healing claims been subject to a double blind study?

Pretty sure the answer to all the above questions is NO.

They burned plenty of heretics. That was one of the practices that Martin Luther spoke out against.

    That is not my point.
What I wonder is: What or who was it, that the young Bernadette had seen then?

And then Calvin sentences a "heretic" to death.

And the Protestants continued burning witches.

But all this has nothing to do with Lourdes.
