When I majored in biology, first year we learned that life begins at conception and that is the same for humans and dogs and cats and monkeys er al. I don't believe in "souls" which is a religious concept. Do you believe abortion law should be based on religious concepts? Please clean up your formatting it makes your post difficult to read and is entire unnecessary and I could not find in your post if you responded so try again with brevity. Why do you keep avoiding my main point, which is that a woman's pregnancy is not, and should never be, anyone's business but her own? It most certainly should never be the business of government.
Huh? IVF, to my knowledge, is a method of becoming pregnant when the natural way isn't working, for whatever reason. I'm not aware that we can choose a specific embryo based on what traits it may turn out to have once its born as a human. If you know otherwise, got a link?

I'll try again: you made the claim that embryos are being chosen by traits, and other embryos are being discarded, but you provide nothing to back it up. Where and how are people choosing which embryo to implant in the womb? Is it based on genetics? Are they able to see a list of things like gender, hair color, eye color, and so forth? If you can't answer, that's okay. It's a complicated science.

The mad scientists have already addressed that issue, by proving it responds to light. To respond to light, it must first be aware of light! The experiment didn't address any other elements of awareness, like pain, for example, so we are limited in our understanding of its potential.
