The capability you describe doesn't exist. At least not at any range that would be useful. No more sci fi movies for you.

Not at all. The people of Iran are not all radicals. The "Pink revolution" was widespread and demonstrated that the people were not antagonistic to the west at all. The problem is that the people have absolutely no influence over what the Iranian government does or does not do. The people keep trying to be heard, but it doesn't work. And its very dangerous. The mullahs run things. Period.

I suppose you think Iran builds airplanes in magic factories in the sky? And ships underwater. Maybe you think Iranian homes are made of recycled Persian rugs? Your claim that underground facilities are built with full view to satellites is silly. I will ignore you now. bye kid.

Sure it does. We may not be implementing it yet. But it works.

I do not agree that reality is silly. I advocate taking advantage of reality instead.

I am sure that Israel will take advantage of reality if they ever decide to bomb Iran's underground nuclear facilities.

I don't think it's accurate to say that the people have 0 influence.

OK. .0005% influence. The mullahs that run the country are religious fanatics. They have the guns. They have the military. They have Sharia Law which cuts off arms and legs... stones people to death... throws offenders off buildings.
The day I arrived in Iraq for the first time I was transported to KMTB (Kir Kush Military Training Base), Camp Caldwell, on the border with Iran. That night we huddled around a TV in the dayroom watching an Iranian broadcast of the punishment of a little boy (11? 12?) who had stolen some candy from a store. His punishment consisted of a big truck driving over his right (offending) arm. Such a society is not very tolerant of civilian attitudes which oppose government policy.

You name ethnic cleansing, religious principles and a number of other alleged pretext for the war. But in reality, all that you listed is a pretext, but not a cause. The cause is always the same - the economy.
But to solve economic problems, wars often start under the guise of religion, ethnic issues, political provocations, racial superiority ... etc. But, again, this is just an pretext. The cause is always the same - the economy.

Sorry. Look at Kosovo. That was all about ethnic cleansing. It had nothing to do with economics. Look at muslims hating Israel. Israel is a tiny state with nowhere near the wealth of her neighbors. Muslims attack because of religious hatred. In any case, I'll stick to what I learned at West Point, and not some amateur in a forum discussion.

Terrorism to me is an intentional attack on a civilian population to terrorize them. In Iran's case, they are doing what we do, and that is supporting organizations and people which adhere to their own beliefs.

If we were to call Iran terrorists, then what is our own government when we pretended to be fighting terrorists in Syria and in reality supported them so as to overthrow their legitimately elected President Assad?

Also what about our invasion of Kosovo and our support of the KLA terrorists under a pretense of genocide when there was no genocide so we could break up Serbia? Then let's not forget Ukraine and how we paid a protesting minority to overthrow the legitimately elected government and in doing so, supported mafias and Nazi thugs?

Iran threatens a lot, and it's stupid - especially since our media will spin everything into its most destructive connotation. What the Iranians want is to regain Jerusalem for Islam through a right of return for the Palestinians - and that is the big problem.

Iran supplies "liquid copper" IED's to terrorists throughout the Middle East, not rifles.Terrorists do not fight conventional wars. They deal in FEAR. They rarely attack military installations. They attack markets and civilians on the street. They assassinate government officials in their homes. They fire MANPADS at civilian airliners and shoot revelers at Christmas parties. They behead people and record it on video.

Don't confuse the murderous tactics of terrorists with the legitimate military actions of civilized nations.

The Iranians are not Sunnis. They are Shia's and you are confusing them with the Sunni terrorists from the Gulf states. It's these Sunni terrorists who we supported in Chechnya so we could break up the Russian Federation - as well as in Syria to overthrow Assad.

When Vladimir Putin told Bush that there are CIA agents embedded with the terrorists in Chechnya, Bush responded that the US can do whatever it wants. Putin's response was that one does not work with terrorists. Two weeks later 911 happened.

As for government officials being assassinated, that's the specialty of the junta that Nuland installed in Kiev - Zacharchenko, Givi and Motorola comes to mind. Then again, it's also the specialty of the MI6, Mossad and the CIA.

As for Kosovo, there was no ethnic cleansing by the Serbs. It was a pretense to invade and break up Serbia. The only ethnic cleansing going on was that towards the Serbs by the KLA terrorists, and they are the ones who we supported.

We in no way support Sunni terrorists. We most certainly have not supported terrorists in Chechnya to "break up" Putin's USSR 2.0 or to overthrow that murderous dictator Assad.

I spent two years in Iraq. We fought terrorists who were both Sunni and Shia. Radical Islam seeks to kill infidels as the key to getting to PARADISE. Both Sunni and Shia radicals believe this. Once this position is understood, then you can move on to the Sunni vs Shia conflict. But make no mistake, radicals
Shia's are generally less violent than Sunni's but make no mistake, BOTH groups have radical elements that are terrorists. Hezbollah, a leading terrorist group, is Shia. Iran
From the US Dept of State website:

"Designated as a State Sponsor of Terrorism in 1984, Iran continued its terrorist-related activity in 2019, including support for Hizballah, Palestinian terrorist groups in Gaza, and various terrorist groups in Syria, Iraq, and throughout the Middle East. Iran used the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF) to provide support to terrorist organizations, provide cover for associated covert operations, and create instability in the region. Iran has acknowledged the involvement of the IRGC-QF in the Iraq and Syria conflicts, and the IRGC-QF is Iran’s primary mechanism for cultivating and supporting terrorists abroad. In April 2019, the Secretary of State designated the IRGC, including the Qods Force, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). Iran also used regional proxy forces to provide deniability, in an attempt to shield it from accountability for its aggressive policies.

In 2019, Iran supported various Iraqi Shia terrorist groups, including Kata’ib Hizballah (KH), Harakat al-Nujaba, and Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq. During the same period, KH was responsible for a series of rocket attacks against American interests in Iraq, which culminated in the death of an American citizen following a 30 plus rocket barrage in December 2019. On December 31, Iran‑backed Shia militia groups, including KH, participated in an attack on U.S. Embassy Baghdad, which resulted in significant damage to embassy property. There were no embassy casualties and security personnel used less-than-lethal countermeasures to repulse intruders. It also bolstered the Assad regime in Syria and Shia terrorist groups operating there, including Hizballah. Iran views the Assad regime in Syria as a crucial ally and Syria and Iraq as vital routes through which to supply weapons to Hizballah, Iran’s primary terrorist proxy group. Through financial or residency enticements, Iran has facilitated and coerced primarily Shia fighters from Afghanistan and Pakistan to participate in the Assad regime’s brutal crackdown in Syria. Iran-supported Shia militias in Iraq have also committed serious human rights abuses against primarily Sunni civilians. Iranian forces have directly backed militia operations in Syria with armored vehicles, artillery, and drones.

Since the end of the 2006 Israeli-Hizballah conflict, Iran has supplied Hizballah with thousands of rockets, missiles, and small arms in direct violation of UNSCR 1701. Israeli security officials and politicians expressed concerns that Iran was supplying Hizballah with advanced weapons systems and technologies, as well as assisting the group in creating infrastructure that would permit it to indigenously produce rockets and missiles to threaten Israel from Lebanon and Syria. Iran has provided hundreds of millions of dollars in support of Hizballah and trained thousands of its fighters at camps in Iran. Hizballah fighters have been used extensively in Syria to support the Assad regime. In Bahrain, Iran has continued to provide weapons, support, and training to local Shia militant groups, including the al-Ashtar Brigades. In Yemen, Iran has provided weapons, support, and training to the Houthi militants, who have engaged in terrorist attacks against regional targets.

In 2019, Iran provided support to Hamas and other designated Palestinian terrorist groups, including Palestine Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine-General Command. These Palestinian terrorist groups were behind numerous deadly attacks originating in Gaza and the West Bank, including attacks against Israeli civilians in the Sinai Peninsula.

The Iranian government maintains a robust offensive cyber program and has sponsored cyber attacks against foreign government and private sector entities.

Iran remained unwilling to bring to justice senior al-Qa’ida (AQ) members residing in the country and has refused to publicly identify members in its custody. Iran has allowed AQ facilitators to operate a core facilitation pipeline through Iran since at least 2009, enabling AQ to move funds and fighters to South Asia and Syria.

As in past years, the Iranian government continued supporting terrorist plots to attack Iranian dissidents in several countries in continental Europe. In recent years, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Albania have all either arrested or expelled Iranian government officials implicated in various terrorist plots in their respective territories. Denmark similarly recalled its ambassador from Tehran after learning of an Iran-backed plot to assassinate an Iranian dissident in its country."

    So Shia's are terrorists too.

And if you equate the beheadings, bombings, torture and terrorism of terrorists like these with the military operations of legitimate nations.... then we have nothing more to say.

Which doesn't really matter if there aren't enough resources to do the scanning in the first place.

It's a possibility, yes, but not enough of one to paralyze shipping over.

I question that the majority of people in Iran are not with their government, because I know that our propaganda networks have used that lie too many times to overthrow regimes that are not to our liking.

I also questioned what you said about a truck running over the hand of a 12 year old boy because he stole something.

Let's just say I question everything coming out of our government and its propaganda networks. An example of the 'in your face' lies, would be Kerry saying he won't recognize the Assad election because a war was going on, while recognizing the election in Ukraine while a war was going on and their opposition was being thrown into trash bins. I mean come on!

I saw the kid getting his arm run over with my own two eyes. It was a broadcast from Iran when I was on the border at Camp Caldwell in Iraq. It wasn't from the government, it was my own personal experience. I am amazed, again, at your naivete about the ugliness of terrorism. You seem to live in a very Lollipop environment where you cannot even conceive of the horror. I fear you are not alone in such astonishing innocence.

Are you familiar with the "Pink Revolution" in Iran? It was a movement of protest within Iran that consisted of women, protesting the cruel way they are treated, combined with a general dissent against the government. It became a game of sorts, with women exposing pink underthings, just for a moment, from under the tyrannical robes they are forced to wear. It was popular for a time until shut down fiercely by the mullahs.

Here's a very interesting article. It describes a joint air force exercise with Russia and Belarus. It shows a Russian Air Force crewmember using a slide rule. It also mentions the presence of tube electronics on board. The conclusion reached is that these seemingly ancient devices are being used because they would survive an EMP attack. EMP-proof devices could save the day in any conflict with NATO. Interesting... food for thought. (I wish we practiced the same procedures.) https://www.zenger.news/2021/11/22/...ighter-pilots-use-slide-rules-in-mach-2-jets/
