...Reporting alleged sex crimes in addition to documented cases provides a fuller picture of sexual violence in schools, as the accused may retire, resign, or seek employment elsewhere before a district can reach a conclusion in the case.

Public schools' mishandling of sexual assault cases has become a political liability for Democrats across the country. Allegations that school officials in one Northern Virginia school district covered up a double sexual assault case roiled parents just weeks before the gubernatorial election. Teacher-union-backed Democrat Terry McAuliffe lost to Republican Glenn Youngkin by 2 points in the commonwealth, where President Joe Biden handily won by a 10-point margin.

Its a fact that the rates of sexual abuse in schools are higher than in the Catholic church.

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/has-media-ignored-sex-abuse-in-school/#app

One of the horrible things about what the church did was they quietly relocated child abusers to other parishes where the abuse continued. The church did this for decades.

So why would Biden want to repeal data collection of these problems in public schools?

WOW, the guy just can't get out of his own way. Any and all data should be available for public consumption and understanding. And of course, if there are those who would/did offend in a teaching setting, they shouldn't be allowed to teach(I mean, this is duh statement of the century.)

Like, we might've openly disliked the Obama Administration but even Obama hit right a couple of times. This idiot just unintentionally(or intentionally) screws up everything and doesn't give a single thought to anything.

Yeah the article suggests teachers unions oppose making this info available and my question is why?

    Why would they oppose this?

Firstly, this is a proposal - not a final decision. And if I'm understanding what I'm reading, they are continuing to report incidents, just not allegations. Also, important to note that - under Trump - reporting did not distinguish between teacher/student and student/student assault.

I think there is lots to learn about this story...

The devil in the details is the second link you posted, about how such instances far outweight the church. Keep in mind, all statistics is what's actually revealed, not what's never told. The dark secret in education, is that these situations happen way more than we think.

I think its in childrens best interest to get all available data in order to have a better picture of whats going on. Current estimates are between 6-10% of students will face some sort of abuse.

I remember the outrage over the Church but when its revealed to be even worse in school, the teachers unions (a core democrat constituency) oppose it.

I completely agree that we need to protect children. My point is that we don't have all the info about this proposal yet.

As of NOW, it is just a "Proposal"...

I would hold back the Mock Outrage Fire Until AFTER it is implemented

    Which may be NEVER.

As of now, all of this Anticipatory Outrage is much ado about nothing.

AJ, if this is just another case of reflexive Orange Man bad instead of taking steps to better study sexual abuse of children, Brandon is going to have to explain that.

ENABLING CHILD MOLESTATION AND STATUTORY RAPE: Biden’s Education Dept. to stop collecting data on sexual assault allegations by teachers.
Too arrogant to be bothered with a halfway believable excuse.

If sex abuse violations are handled with the resignation or retirement of an accused teacher or school staff member reporting will not be required.

If the "school staffer was reassigned elsewhere prior to the conclusion of an investigation" it will no longer be reported.
Before this Biden rule change, This data collection was going to allow visibility in what of those crimes were treacher/staff assaults on the children in their control.
Well, not while Dems have the WH.

And who would make such a proposal and why? The teachers unions don’t seem to have any problem with collecting data on child abuse, most likely the abuse of little girls. Now I would propose the death penalty for such crimes, but that’s just my proposal.,

    Really? :smh:
You actually fell for a Trash Blog RE-Hash (of an Old Story) and rushed here to post this Ancient Mischaracterized BS?:bored:
    THIS "Story" is RE-Hashed BS.

It is the EXACT SAME Story as THIS ONE (From Nov 23rd):

    https://freebeacon.com/biden-admini...ll-back-effort-to-catalog-teacher-sex-crimes/

And, it is just being RE-Hashed (and RE-dated Dec. 10th) thanks to a RW Trash Blog named "Rebel News"
Once again, this story (first by Free Beacon, and now by Rebel News) is a great example of insulting the collective intelligence of the entire forum.
NOTHING Has Changed since the Original Story from last month.
So, why wouid anybody waste time posting Re-Hashed BS that insults the intelligence of the entire forum?
Slow day for Mock Outrage Material?:bored:

As in the above story -- The THURSDAY Being Referred to is Nov. 18th.

And, as in the Original Story:

This Has NOT Taken Effect and It Is Only a Hypothetical Proposal.

    WHAT "Rule Change"?

As of Now, it is ONLY a PROPOSAL (that hasn't even taken effect).
So, why would anybody be speaking as if it ALREADY Had taken effect?:smh:
Speaking as if it has already been implemented (when it hasn't)?
^What A Horrible Look. Just Wow, Too Funny...:smh:

Once again, it is Only a Proposal

And, as I posted at the time:

As of NOW, it is just a "Proposal"...

I would hold back the Mock Outrage Fire Until AFTER it is implemented

    Which may be NEVER.

As of now, all of this Anticipatory Outrage is much ado about nothing.

Since NOTHING (on this issue) Has Changed (Since Last Month) Why waste time on RE-Hashing This Crap?:bored::smh:

I don't think someone's career should be ruined unless they are found guilty of a crime. This is why I'm against putting someone's arrest on record. This can cause employers to not consider someone even if his case never even made it to trial and charges were dropped.

That's fine but collecting data is not an arrest.

And when it comes to children we should be more vigilant not less so.
