    What you responded to is the textbook definition of "gaslighting". You take that and add it to the narratives going about that this was the result of an SUV attack as opposed to a Black Supremacist plowing his SUV into a group of people - *shrugs*

    I say this often - George Orwell was a prophet. The problem is that the LW and the Legacy Media look at 1984 as a how-to manual instead of a cautionary tale.

    The Washington Post. The SUV did it. One wonders about the different treatment of this and Rittenhouse. It appears the only ones that don’t know are the left.

    Two points. (1) A lot depends on how early on after the incidents that description was used i.e. well before the facts were known and charges laid or (highly unlikely) after. (2) Technically (legally) until such time as the 'person' concerned is convicted it is a 'crash'.

    Regardless of the above however some people have a depressing habit of scouring media outlets they hate and turning virtually any random quote into 'proof' of radical right or left wing bias. A conservative outlet does a piece on the Rittenhouse verdict? Suddenly some small part of it is 'proof' that the outlet concerned is mouthpiece for fascism/racism. A passing description phrase in a left of center newspaper about the Waukesha tragedy? Proof the paper is is bent on overturning American values and creating a socialist State!

    That's how blinkered some peoples world view has. Its depressing.
