I have watched The Simpsons it is not a good place to get historically accurate information.

There was never a pagan god named Easter Easter is the name of the celebration of the resurrection of Christ. Anglo-Saxon tribes celebrated osteria during the spring equinox which was a celebration of Eostare.

When you open your mouth you remove all doubt.
    no it's Easter.
I've been in multiple Christian organizations my entire life and I've never heard anyone referred to Easter as anything but Easter that is the name Christians use for the holiday.

It doesn't matter these things are associated with Christmas and if you celebrate Christmas you are celebrating Christ That's What Christmas means

many Americans do not celebrate Christ in their Christmas, hate to break it to you, only 65% of Americans are Christians

Agreed. I was just pointing out the how ironic it is to see people show dislike for Christianity while at the same time celebrating it.

I'm sorry that observation bothers you but if it bothers you it's probably because it's ironic

No you can't help me I don't need to learn false things nobody does.

You have did learn something about Easter and that no god or goddess was ever named that. And it was never the name of a pagan holiday.

There is no other version. It is a religious holiday it is the celebration of Christ's birth if you're celebrating Christmas you are celebrating Christ's birth.

You just have to deal with that

100% of all people that ever celebrated Christmas ever will celebrate Christmas in the existence of the universe are celebrating Christ.

Hate to break it to you but sometimes non-christians celebrate Christ it's okay it's just that's what you're doing.

no they don't, any more than you celebrate the Sun God on Sunday, just cause it's called Sunday

I like how you think you can say what everyone else is doing, nope, you only control yourself, and if you want your Christmas to celebrate Christ, have at it, no one is stopping you, but mine and many many others does not

by the way, do you think Jesus was really born on the 25th? or is it more likely Christians in the past wanted to try and steal a Pagan holiday

You still celebrate Christ even though you don't believe in him.

    Your mockery means nothing.

it's also a secular federal holiday - that has nothing to do with Christ

just cause the Christian name stuck doesn't mean it's a Christian holiday to many

any more than the fact the Pagan name Easter stuck, makes it a Pagan holiday to you

just that facts Polydectes, you can try to deny them all you want, but you can only control how YOU celebrate the holiday, not others

You should realize that all those celebrations began as pagan ritual.

it has everything to do with Christ. In fact that's the only reason you have a federal holiday
it's not Christian just because of its name it's Christian because of what it celebrates you are celebrating the birth of Christ when you celebrate Christmas you're not celebrating anything else.
The pagan name for that was Ostara. Easter is a Christian holiday.
if you celebrate Christmas you are celebrating the breath of Christ that's what the day means that's why it's a federal holiday.

You don't have the right to your own facts.

No if you celebrate Christmas you're celebrating Christ I don't care if you call it happy holidays the only reason you say that is because you're celebrating Christ.

My point is not whether it is true or not true. My point is that saying there was no guiding light because astronomers cannot find one is ridiculous. God does whatever God pleases.

Many people, even atheists, celebrate Christmas in which Christ is not a central theme or existent at all.

That's synonymous with trick-or-treating with Satan worship. They, too, can be mutually exclusive.

There are gazillion things humans haven't discovered yet.

And, your god is a construct of whatever you were exposed to, not a real being or thing.

    Further, if he does exist, he's a <censoring myself>.

First of all, I am not religious as I said before. I have no dog in this fight. However, I do believe in allowing people to have their own beliefs without being criticized. Rhetoric such as yours just breeds hatred with no useful outcome.
