What is there? If Biden called Trump a xenophobe before or after the travel ban? Is there a reason why I should give a rip about what they call each other and when they did it? This is what keeps you up at night?

 

It is incredible how people politicize Covid-19. It's a disease. It's caused by a virus. It's a biological, personal health, and public health issue.

Instead of discussing if Biden called Trump a xenophobe or not, we should be rather discussing the characteristics of the new variant once the information gets to be known, and what to do to get protected, if needed (in case it turns out to be bad - not a given yet, but there is a potential for that). The virus couldn't care less if the current POTUS is Biden or if it was Trump before. The virus couldn't care less if the people talking about it are liberals or conservatives, rightists, centrists, or leftists, Democrats, independents, or Republicans.

In my long medical career of more than 4 decades, I don't think I've ever seen as much nonsense and as much politicizing regarding a disease, like I'm seeing now. The sad part is that the politics of Covid-19 have caused more deaths than we could have had, and that's a fact.

If from the beginning people, pundits, and politicians had simply said, "hey, there's a new virus. It is dangerous to some people. Let's see what we need to do from the standpoints of Virology, Immunology, Epidemiology, and Therapeutics, to best beat this enemy that threatens all of us, regardless of our political orientation." I guarantee that we wouldn't have had 800,340 US deaths (latest number from Worldometer) and counting) if we had approached this like it is - a viral disease - rather than a political tool.

 

So where exactly is he calling the travel bans xenophobic? Calling someone a xenophobe is not the same.

It seems to me that if you want to prevent it from entering the country, you ban all planes, ships, trains, cars, buses & pedestrians from the entire world.

Travel banks don't work. That omicron virus is already all over. I mean, it's already in like 5 southern African countries... so that makes me believe it's firmly there all over the place. That airplane from SA that landed in the Netherlands who they forced to keep it's door closed until they were able to test everybody... that result of the test was that over a dozen of them had that omicron virus. Just 1 plane... while the weeks before they were coming and going like no tomorrow. We're talking 100,000's of people of which maybe 5% got invected already spreading that crap all over the place. Because you know... yolo. "I feel fine -cough- -cough-. No need to be tested -cough- I always have this cough at this time of the year"

He couldn't even ban the virus from entering his own White House. The WH even has a fully functioning medical unit, with ventilators. So it was a total panic when he was take to a regular hospital. He received special medication like Remdesivir there that got granted with an emergency to be used. A normal person back in the day would have been given a bill of a kewl 100,000 bucks for that covid treatment, a treatment that they wouldn't be getting. That pulled him through were other people died by the 100,000's that died because the ban did not work.
