Yeah... I totally owned you on the last thread here:

    http://politicalforum.com/index.php...m-offer-of-30-million.594655/#post-1073098392

We all noticed you ran away.

You don't know much about energy and why the Midwest and East Coast are in trouble if a big freeze hits, but here you are. I told you exactly why we are in trouble and the solutions. You have nothing but your weak partisan attacks.

    And that's just in Texas...

Also, looks like the ARP, passed way back in the spring, took this into account....

This administration won't be killing the citizens on purpose...

You are asking what solutions are being offered? With a little bit of effort you could have answered your own question. But of course your question was rhetorical.

FYI. On Nov. 4 GOP Senators sent a letter to Joe Biden proposing the following.
    1. Lift the ban on oil and gas lease sales on federal lands and waters.
    2. Accelerate FERC [Federal Energy Regulatory Commission], U.S. Army corps permitting and interagency coordination to approve pipeline projects that de-bottleneck constrained energy.
    3. End the regulatory uncertainty that is stifling investments in energy.

That's me - zero substance! Next time I guess I should include you in all my backs and forths with other members so that you don't jump in at the tail end with your unsolicited opinion.
Kudos to you on all your accomplishments. And you're correct, I've no where near the 'expertise' on the subject that you do. I guess I should just stick to threads about those things about which I'm an expert and leave you and the other experts to deal with the energy stuff. Good to know that PF now requires expertise for participation...I hadn't gotten the memo.

Nuclear power plants cost too much to build then only have a 50 year or so life span, then cost a fortune to decommission. Just not a good investment.

Democrats force people into poverty and force them to stay in poverty so to promise them handouts if they vote for them
Democrats purposely create the problem and then force people to accept the failed solution to the problem

Republicans want to teach a man to fish so he's able to feed himself Democrats just wanted to keep giving the man a fish so he stays dependent and has no choice but to keep voting for the man that gives him the fish

A legend in your own mind. Yeah, you won, according to you. Good luck with that.
You don’t even know the difference between energy and fuel.

Another sheep bleating the Republican Party talking points.
Republicans and cons need fishermen to keep exploiting and breed more fishermen to be exploited by rich Republicans. Never any social mobility, just more subsistence workers to exploit. Remember that it’s Republicans who rail against illegal immigrants yet are the number one employer of illegals. Including your cult leader Dirty Donnie.

Natural gas is often supplied under a long term contract domestically so many customers shouldn't see a huge spike in prices unless their utilities are padding their costs.

I've been saying for quite some time that the 2022 midterms would be decided by the price of a gallon of gas or in this case, the price of natural gas. The rising price of a gallon of gas being a metaphor for rising prices in all categories, inflation. Republicans and Democrats will vote for their candidate regardless of who those candidates are and usually in any situation. As a result, one must concentrate on swing voters, independents. Quite a lot of independents will vote based on the tickness or thinness of their wallet. They're not political junkies like those of us on this site, Most don't pay much attention to politics until an election nears. They non-affiliated, less to non-partisan, too busy with living their lives than to be that much interested in the daily grind of those in Washington.

They do however, know how thin or thick their wallet is. They don't like paying 3.50 for a gallon of gas when they can remember it being 2,00 and in some places a bit under. So, just watch the price of a gallon of gas, that will probably let you know how the midterms turn out.

And you don't think the ones making those contracts aren't speculating what the price will be in the future when they created the contracts

You left out the moratorium on new drilling leases Biden put into effect immediately from taking office. Yeah, silly to think he had any fault in gas prices.

Because they vote either out of fear (of lost freebies), or preoccupation with mean tweets.

Unless they signed the long term contract 5 minutes ago, the assumption has always been natural gas would be getting cheaper. People on propane are screwed. People in California and the northeast that require natural gas to be brought in by CGC tanker are screwed. everybody else, not so much.

While I sympathise to an extent, you have to wonder why people who choose to live in such climates, trust external services (which they have no control over) for their day to day survival.

There are things that can be done to insulate a small home (and increase solar gain via properly placed windows) so well that no additional heat source is even needed. There is also solid fuel, the best heat there is - and which is often free via salvaged wood. We really need to take more personal responsibility for this stuff.

EG, this house has won numerous awards for it's low dependence on utilities, and it's located in Zone 6 (USA), which is presumably very cold. Building for the conditions is not only a survival tactic, it's an economic one.

No, it's on every individual to live according to conditions.
